reach out and partnership together. >> the shooter described as a black man in his 30s. he may be driving a silver pontiac with a female inside. investigators say the woman accused of murdering michelle le stalked her before killing her. she was indicted in a grand jury hearing. she was jealous because she had dated her old boyfriend. she threatened le and followed her to the hayward garage where she was killed last may. the body was found in september in a field near sunol. more disturbing news for pg&e customers officials from the utility admitted to state officials they never inspected 14 miles of aging gas lines even though federal law requires those inspections every five years. as a result some pg&e lines went

unchecked for 20 years. new survey uncovered 22 leaks in those abandoned pipes. the inspections were never done because company officials did not keep up with guidelines for the lines. security has stepped up for the squirrel monkey's disappearance. sam is a tiny guy. he weighs on only two pounds and 12 inches long. as john alston reports there is concern over his health and safety. >> there are about 24 monkeys at the san francisco zoo biden banana sam is not one of them. >> it's really tragedy that the animal may be by himself. it's important to get him back. >> someone cut the chain on the back fence and cut their way into the area where the zoo says there is no surveillance

cameras. >> at this time we don't know what the motive is. it could be an animal rights group. it could be someone who does want to make a profit off this animal. >> reporter: on the web we didn't have any problem finding squarely monkeys for sale. having pet monkeys is legal in some states but not here in california. we did find some for sale in oakland and sacramento. one person familiar with it is suzy carey who residents sanctuary in san diego county. >> there are people that breeds monkeys to sell. unfortunately they take them out of the wild for laboratories and probably for pets also. >> reporter: the squirrel squirrel monkeys at the zoo arrived after funding ended. banana sam is one of oldest at age 17. they normally live to be about 20. experts say they do not make good pets.

arsonist from striking again. there are new reports. some cars were burned in the arson attacks early this morning 21 car fires were set yesterday before dawn in and around west hollywood. most of them were started in parked cars. several turned into major fires and one destroyed in a home by jim morrison front man for the doors. $35,000 reward leading to the arsonists. >> firefighters in carson city nevada are battling a brush prior to. 20 homes were threatened. at one point there were voluntary vuax. they evacuations. you are looking at the pictures and if you didn't know it could be between march and november.

nice afternoon with warmer conditions. you can see the clear sky and lots of wind in the higher elevations that has scoured out the cloudiness in the east bay valleys. from mount tam a little bit of cloudiness but the winds blowing. they are offshore winds. with that we still have the valley numbers. napa is 35. 38 in concord with who's in the livermore valley. breezy in concord this morning. 48 in san francisco with the coastal temperatures quite mild in the 50s. 38 in mountain view. visibility have improved all over the place with still some fog napa novato, quarter of a mile to less than a quarter mile. that, too, will be lifting and partly to mostly sunny conditions as high pressure once again takes command of our weather. fog in the north bay. warmer weather all around the bay with mid to upper 60s in santa clara valley.

>> the heart is going very fast. >> walt disney is the parent company of "abc 7 news". no rain today. i know i was about that because i listen to you lisa but no rain in the forecast for the past few weeks. >> the past month or so cold mornings and back to that again. yesterday was a little bit of precip out there. this morning we're looking at lake tahoe where temperatures are pretty mild to start out. 20 degrees at the tahoe valley airport with upper 40s blue canyon. the forecast today will take them through the mid-50s. elsewhere around the bay vollmer peak with clear skies. winds have scoured out that fog around the bay. it was pretty dense in parts of the east bay. sutro another pretty shot of the clear start. this is what you can expect for the rest of the holiday weekend

and tam cam a few clouds around. no rain clouds just another hint of a pattern change coming to the middle to the end of next week. keep our fingers crossed but it does pan out. we are looking at temperatures on the cold side. novato and napa where we had the fog upper 40s in san francisco. 44 in san jose. we did see anywhere from four one hundredths around the bay but a little bit of drink of water and this morning back to the fog. so highlights, partly cloudy with areas of fog warming up for everyone 3-5 degrees and all that sun scouring out what little fog there is. then dry and mild into the early part of next week. by end of the week maybe things will change. we'll have to watch that

carefully. forecast models from day to day. here is a look what is going on. high clouds a around the bay but our system has passed and next system which is much drier parcel of air. high pressure is building in to the sierra, nevada. it's going to bring offshore flow today that will allow for some warming around the bay dramatic warming into the mountains. valleys are stuck in the 50s for much of december and january but with the fog burning back. mid-70s and gets warmer in the days ahead. southern california palm springs, 78 in san diego. the statewide percent of normal. more rain and snow in southern california than we've had and compared to last year. we were at 215% of normal. really hoping for a change in

the scenario but overnight it will be clear and mostly temperatures in the mid 40s. this is before some the fog forms midnight 40 in vallejo. it should be a good night to view fireworks. 63 in milpitas and 66 in los gatos. peninsula upper 50s here. pacifica and half moon bay 60. 65 in redwood city. mountain view at 66. numbers back home above normal. we should see upper 50s for this time of year. 2-4 degrees above normal. north bay cool at our coast with upper 50s there. you head inland 64 in novato. even vallejo at 62 today. all along the east bay will be in the low 60s. a little ways to go for sure before we get there at 3:00 this afternoon. 63 in union city and 64 in livermore today. 64 in walnut creek.

or a wealthy people but an 11-year-old who wanted to help fill a need. amy was watching extreme makeover home edition and she decided to want to help people in need. >> i've seen a lot of homeless people in san francisco. >> amy's dad is manager at a store and suggested placing bins around the bay area. >> we told her story and what she wanted to do and everybody got on board. who could say to her? she is a adorable and has a great heart. >> she collected 500 coats last year. she decided to do it again and this year she brought in nearly 600. >> this year they'll be gone by the end of january given the increased volume. >> st. anthony's is the largest
