>> assessing the damage, a burned american flag and graffiti. saturday's clashes culminated in a break-in at oakland city hall. >> a daymarked by tear gas and flash bang grenades. a roaming band of "occupy" oakland protesters left a trail of destruction in its path and with almost every available officer on duty, oakland says 200 emergency calls went unanswered during the chaos. the protest started with a march to laney college where they faced off with police. vowing to occupy a vacant

building, the group headed to the kaiser convention center where they started tearing down the fence. at night fell, the group stormed the downtown ymca building on broadway and 24 them street. police moved in and made arrests. nearly 400 in all-including protesters who broke into city hall. we had first-hand look at the damage inside the building. >> during an early morning show and tell tour, mayor jean kwan describes the damage to city hall. >> i think it was probably the architect's model. we got it from the museum. >> the original architectural model. >> that's what they think. >> which would make the model more than a century old. other damage was a smashed window, graffiti, and the california and united states flags were yanked from their place on the mezzanine. >> i'm tired of them using the city city as a playground. i think oaklanders are getting tired.

>> that's the charred remains of northwestern flag that some demon straighters pulled down and burn out here on at the front steps of city hall. thit this is youtube video of demonstrators waving the u.s. flag and then setting it ablaze and stomping it out. during the city hall break-in, dozens of people were being arrested following a different break-in at the downtown ymca. i talked with one san francisco resident who is one of about 70 people arrested at the y. >> there was no order to dispercent. i was never read my rights, never told what the charges were. they surrounded us and packed us in and then slowly arrested people. >> he didn't see any fellow demonstrators destroy fig but he heard before the the break in at city hall. >> what do you think about burning the flag? >> i think that's probably not the smartest gesture to gain popular approval. >> reporter: in oakland, abc-7 news.

>> and as you just heard, many of saturday's protesters were not peaceful. today oakland police items they took from demonstrators. knives, scissors, switchblades, a large shield and smoke bombs. police say here's all weapons that caused them to call for more and more backup. >> our force has a lot of officers out today. we again have mutual aid available to us, and we are prepared if we have additional problems that represent themselves to the city today. >> police also showed us some damage protesters did inside city hall when they broke in last night. at least three officers and one protester were injured yesterday. >> 15-year-old oakland boy is being held on charges he murdered his own parents. the bodies of 54-year-old robert kamin and susan paw were found in a car outside their home. camein was a clinical

psychologist, poff was a physician's assistant at the san francisco department of public health. the couple's son has admitted to killing them. police are not releasing a motive. >> san leandro police are investigating whether or not a body found hanging from a structure is the prime suspect in the gruesome stabbing death of a 15-year-old girl. police discovered the body of the man at the port of ownland on saturday. the alameda county coroner confirmed the identity is that of 19-year-old henry leon, the same name and age of the map san leandro police are looking for. he was the father of the 15-year-old girl's nine-month-old baby and police have been searching for him since the murder on friday night. they aren't sure if leon committed suicide or if foul play was involved. >> investigators are looking for witnesses to a stabbing during a wedding reception that left four men critically wounded. investigators say there were a number of people outside the idef hall in half moon bay last

night when two men between the ages of 18 and 20 years old approached the four victims and started arguing. the four men were stabbed. deputies say the victims are expected to survive. >> a rally for economic justice and peace was held in oakland today with speakers saying they're on the side of the occupiers. at least with the goal of economic equality. leaders expressed support for the "occupy" movement, adding a plea for nonviolence. the rally was held on hide street in front of an apartment complex where a shooting death occurred on monday. >> in politics sm florida holds its presidential primary on tuesday and could take the tries the news a new direction. after months of trying to shake off newt gingrich's incentury. >> mitt romney is beginning to sense an important sprinkle the air. here's a report. >> with just one full day of campaigning left until the florida primary, things are finally going according to mitt romney's plan. >> people of florida have listened to the other candidates and said, mitt romney is the guy

right now. so it will take some time that we may see a little bit of activity as this cold front brushes to the north of us. temperatures right now, we're coming down. the clouds are moving in. 59, san rafael. 60, san francisco, half moon bay, high there today of 66. right now you're at 57. 52 san jose and livermore. here's the highlights. cloudy overnight. chance of showers in the north bay. for the rest of us we'll look for colder temperatures, cooler temperatures on monday and tuesday, and after that, folks, get ready for above normal temperatures. some locations by the end of the week back up into the 70s. here's a look at the forecast. our timing. 11:00 tonight, the clouds move in and you can see just that leading edge of showers start to move towards the south. by 2:00 a.m., very close to our reek cashing heading down into the santa rosa area. this is 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. as it advances south it just doesn't have a lot of support and just starts to fall apart.
