clashes with dissidents and others villed more than 60 people. some of the fighting is three miles from damascus itself. back here at home,home, interstate 75 is back open after a horrific deadly pileup yesterday. people were killed yesterday in a series of crashes shrouded in smoke from a nearby brush fire. it involved a dozen cars. fire burned so hot that part of the road actually melted. and city hall in california is coming up a mess as well, courtesy of dozens of occupied protesters who broke in over the weekend. they smashed also left also left graffiti behind. demonstrators took to the streets of new york to show solidarity with the folks in california. some of them were also arrested but there was no major violence. three members of an afghan family face long prison term.
