three people were shot but there may have been two others who were hurt. would people showed up at the hospital with gunshot wounds. there were concerns about a baby possibly being hit. that baby was in a house nearby. but police say that baby is okay. that is the latest from oakland. abc-7 news. >> a deadly explosion in washington state, and now police say the husband of a missing utah woman deliberately blew up the house, killing himself and his two young sons. it happened moments of a child protective services worker brought the two boys to the home for a visit. the father blocked her from enteringle. she called supervisors to report the smell of gas and that's when the home exploded. the father was under investigation in the 2009 disappearance of his wife, susan paul. >> a raging fire at a warehouse near vallejo today. >> so intense crews let it burn.

it burned for hours at the old navy shipyard an. >> a battalion chief tells me the reason they let it burn is because the buildings are slated for demolition, and now more than eight hours after the fire you can see that it is still smoldering. in fact you can kind of see a dull orange glow right there from where that smoke is coming through. that's one of the reasons why fire crews are going to remain here through the morning to keep an eye on this fire to make sure it doesn't spread. >> this is a fire that could be scene for miles across the bay area. it sends a thick black plume of smoke into the air for hours. speck tailors came from miles around to watch flames tore through what used to be a gigantic neighborhood warehouse. >> crazy to see something this big going up like this. it was a huge building. >> crews let the fire burn because it was slated for demolition anyway.

they made sure it didn't spread, and put out spot fired from airborne embers that touched down nearby. for some watching the structure go up in flames was sad because many locals watched this former naval installation decay and become a hangout of homeless people. >> you worry about people coming in, utilizing them for shelter, accidental fires can happen that way. >> when firefighters first arrived, they swept through the warehouse to make sure no one was inside. john says he was inside the building a couple weeks ago to shoot pictures of graffiti and he saw people inside. >> i'd met a couple that lived here near this building, and it worried me they had problems. >> i talked with this man who said he lived in this neighboring warehouse with two friends for a year. he doesn't thb think anyone was inside and the made sure the fire didn't spread here. >> crazy. i went out here eve and put fires out over here by the

barbecue area myself. report report now, as we continue to watch this smoldering fire out here, i can tell you that investigators have not yet determined what sparked this fire, and that's in part because those embers, as you can see, are still too hat -- too hot for anyone to walk in and make an assessment what started the fire and find where it started. reporting live nearby vallejo, abc-7 news. >> tonight a car crash in oakland injured the driver and left family of four homeless. the car ended up sticking out of an apartment building. check this out. police say it looks like the driver hit a light pole, went airborne off a curb, crashed through a tree and smashed into the building. the car bashed in a garage door and damaged a car inside and then burst into flame the family of four lived in the unit above the garage. the driver of the car ran off
