hurling rocks into homes in a vandalism spree in livermore. detectives say they sped through town early last saturday morning throwing rocks. look at this one rock flew through a window and ended up embedded in a wall near a crib. >> any kind of injury as a result of their actions would have changed the dynamics. fortunately for them no one was injured and no one was home at the time. >> they credited surveillance tape for helping them making the arrests. >> police are investigating a shooting into oakland. this morning a man was critically injured at 14th and webster. investigators say it's unclear whether he will survive. latest shooting occurred as oakland police are taking a close look at video that aired only on abc7. you are about to watch a man step out of a car and begin

firing a gun. a special team of officers is sweeping the streets this weekend. so far they have made three arrests and it left two people dead and 16 others injured. >> pulled out firearms and fires a shot in the air and two shots down the street. >> in oakland shooting was caught on surveillance video. it happened wednesday morning on 63rd street. the cameras belong to a resident who doesn't want his identity known. he was home when it happened. >> i heard several loud reports. >> when he realized his cameras caught the shooting he called oakland police. >> i told them nou get in touch with me and i didn't hear anything from him. >> i got in touch with oakland police and a few hours later, detectives came for the video. >> i just wanted them to stop shooting. >> they have been working responding to nine shootings in

the last three days. there was another daytime shooting near 99th avenue. >> through the couch, it hit bottles on the counter. >> two bullets pierced the screen door where two young children stand during the day. >> both babies had been at the screen door, liked to watch people go by. come on, get away from the door. put your socks on. there are two big bullet holes in the screen right at head level. >> they arrested what they believe is shooter. and found ten shell casings. each bullet adding to the anger of residents. >> people are shooting guns in the street. >> as for all the violence that has been happening over the last couple of days, police believe that some of it is due in part to a gang turf war in east oakland.

>> terry: operations are back to normal another san francisco international airport this morning after a bomb scare disrupted airline flights yesterday afternoon. terminal one was evacuated when an elderly woman in a wheelchair could not identify a canister that showed up in a scan of her own bag. the bomb squad used a robot to examine it that turned an oxygen bottle. >> everything was shut down and the people forced them down to the gate very quickly. >> terminal one was closed for two hours with delays rip rimming rippling nationwide. >> take a look at this. it broke a window nearly hitting someone in at that their desk. it happened in the financial district. the projectile is a piece that connects the bus to overhead wires and got caught on the

california policymakers are taking a closer look on online college courses. the state student aid commission an ever growing number of students are using their tuition offering online courses. the commission wants new rules setting academic standards for those classes including stricter supervision. >> faculty have to be in direct communication with students in order for the model to work and there has to be effective tutoring available for those students. >> a lot of reasons to take courses online, you save the expense of student fees and, of course, there is the convenience. on monday, as many as 1400 college bound students living near the campus of san jose state will find out if they qualified. campus officials decided to wait for the president to consider

raising the bar for students. they have given admission to county students making eight bit easier for them to qualify. state budget cuts have all cal campuses slashing enrollment and first time ever san jose state could eliminate the advantage they give to local applicants. >> santa clara is moving towards building the new 49er stadium. they are expected to approve a lease contract that requires construction to begin within 120 days. they report the deal generates $200 million for the city over 40 years. rent from the 49ers and n.f.l. would provide the city about $41 million and the city would also share and come from other events like concerts to bring in an estimated $155 million. the paper also points out that inflation over 40 years would seriously discount the value of that deal. >> tomorrow night, hollywood's

mountain view and the winds have been gusty on the peninsula and north bay and livermore valley. numbers in the mid 40s. 49 in san jose but here is what has been going on with some very gusty winds at our coast, half moon bay, up to 21 miles an hour. novato, has been blowing all night long. hayward, a little bit of a break north wind at 3. livermore, 7 mile-an-hour wind. for the most part breezy and cooler and breezy for the weekend with coolest day coming in tomorrow. by the end of the day, could see a chance of showers especially toward the santa cruz mountains. slim chance, seven-day outlook is showing a chance of rain by mid-week. yesterday's highs mid-70s for napa, livermore, upper 70s santa cruz and watsonville. look at this trend, everyone is much cooler, 2-14 degrees

cooler. san francisco going from 72 to 59 today. breeze picked up earlier so few degrees cooler at 58 in half moon bay. cold front a dry one that has pushed through the day. with it we're getting a colder air mass. here is the first shot of cooler air. another one comes in tomorrow. so tomorrow will be cooler, coolest day out of the next three will be monday. we'll still be looking at a relatively dry air mass. it's not until the middle of the week we'll see a little bit of moisture head our way and tip the rain buckets towards wednesday. in terms of cloud cover tomorrow few higher clouds especially in the north bay, look for the numbers only in the 50s. another five to eight degrees cooler for the second half of your weekend. quick shot of rain coming in towards midnight and dusting around mount hamilton. after that, back to partly cloudy skies monday and tuesday.

today. that is 14 degrees cooler and watsonville, expected high of 63 today. cold front, first one pushing through the bay area, bringing some gusty winds and the first shot of cooler air. you can see it's bottled up to the opened in north and west of us. problem is no moisture associated with it. just a few areas of light rain along the northwest coast. a dry front and enhancing the winds around the bay. tomorrow, we'll see a little better shot of more clouds but that is about it. temperatures are another 5-8 degrees cooler for sunday. here is a look at the next couple of hours as we head through. 5:00 sunday afternoon, mostly cloudy conditions. the rain is down around the central coast with some snow at 2500 feet. so the santa cruz mountains could get a little bit. everybody else, it will be tuesday night into wednesday

sciences steinhart aquarium. sooner they will be moving. >> did she say they are putting sharks in here? they will be sharing this 25 gallon exhibit tank. >> the sharks are docile. they are easily approached by divers. >> they may not be a threat by biologists the two species don't wind up in a food fight. penguins are fed by hand. the sharks have to learn at a different time. >> that is going to be a delicate process. >> biologist nancy levine trains the sharks. first she puts a fish near a target. then she rings bells under the water. >> that means there is food in the water so they start looking for it and know that it's

feeding time. >> their eyesight is not very good but a great sense of smell. >> they you'll all their senses in order to survive in the wild. >> sharks do not naturally eat on command so it takes weeks to figure out the best way to let them know it's time to eat and where to find the food. >> in the end it will be great for them, you can see how much each shark is eating. we can get a good visual on each individual if they come to us to feed. >> biologists are putting them together because in the wild, they are actually part of the same ecosystem, a water environment in southern africa. they are endangered species and the shark's habitat is under serious threat. but they hope visitors will learn to love these sharks. >> that is dan ashley reporting. sharks will grow to three feet.

they say the penguins are bigger threat to the sharks than the other way around. if the training goes as planned, the sharks should be in the tank by april. a record number of sea otters are being attacked off the coast. 30% of the dead otters recovered showed evidence of shark bites, that is up from 15%, double. strangely they say there is no evidence that the sharks are eating the otters. they believe the sharks are mistaking them for seals and sea lions. >> don'ting away, "7 on your side" is next. >> they were supposed to last a lifetime are suddenly ripped out. i'm michael finney, "7 on your side
