condoms. whether that is related to the case, we won't know for a few weeks into the fields go a group of volunteers maybe this will be the group to find the clue that leads investigators to sierra lamar, missing two weeks today. a big find yesterday, or was it? a box containing used condoms, no big deal to these searchers. >> come out to help. if we find something fantastic, if not we are making the effort. >> reporter: no big deal to investigators who know the importance of the find, if any, is not coming in today like it might in a movie or television show. >> is not something where you have a 24 hour turn around period. sometimes it is a couple weeks to get results back. >> reporter: marc klaas founder of klaas kids foundation coordinating this volunteer search and the man whose daughter polly was kidnapped and killed in 1993 is amazed by the turnout.

>> closed captioning brought to you by mancini sleepworld. firefighters narrowly escaped a dangerous fall when the roof began to collapse under them. firefighters in michigan were trying to let out smoke and gases when it began to give way they had to pull one of the firefighters to safety. no one was hurt and the cause is under investigation. will new sanctions against iran's oil industry cause a big jump in u.s. gas prices? sources say president obama has decided it will not. the associated process the president has concluded there is sufficient petroleum to allow countries to punish iran. new sanctions law required the to make that decision by today and he must make it again every six months.

this morning apple hassled a class action lawsuit and you could get money from it. it was over the iphone 4's reception problems some said if you health the phone a way the reception would drop big time. apple will pay you $15 if you bought your handset before february 17th. you have now until the end of august to file. fda is expected to decide today if it will ban the use of the additive bpa from food packaging part of a legal settlement with the national resources defense council to protect consumers from bpa that leeches from products like soup chance and water bottles. the chemical can act like estrogen in the body. animal studies show large quantities can affect the brain and sexual development. recent studies suggest it is unlikely bpa is a health risk to people. meteorologist mike nicco is ahead with our forecast. looks like it is going to be wet starting tonight

this morning 1,000 health care professionals gathered in san francisco to talk about the affects of domestic violence on health. i was organized by a national organization called future -- it was organized by a national organization called future without violence. cheryl jennings was there. sheryl interviewed a teenager today who was recently on "the view" her ex-boyfriend raped her, came back and shot her in the face. she has been through 12 surgeries with more to go. she has this urgent advice for parents and teens. >> i expect not only parents to be more aware, and to, you
