>> and i'm t.j. winick in for rob nelson. we're following breaking news from russia where a passenger plane has crashed in siberia. >> most were killed but there are survivors. kirit radia joins us from moscow with the latest. >> reporter: good morning. the plane was ripped in half when it hit the ground this morning. 43 people were on board. a handful of them survived. the plane was a french and italian made twin turbo prop. called the atr-72. the pilots tried to conduct an emergency landing. they were not able to make it. it went down a few miles away from the runway. investigators are looking at a technical problem or pilot error. survivorers are being taken to the hospital. one of them has since died. others are said to be suffering from severe burns and injuries. back to you. >> many thanks, kirit radia, in moscow. also, developing right now, a nearly 70-foot-long racing yacht is expected to sail into

san francisco bay today short two crew members. they were rescued by the coast guard yesterday after being injured on saturday when a massive wave hit the boat. we'll have more on that coming up. and police in kansas say all 18 people involved in a deadly motor home crash were related. at least five on board were killed yesterday when the rv's driver lost control and hit a guardrail before crashing into a ravine. some of the 13 people that were injured are hospitalized on critical condition. the accident happened while the family was on its way home to minnesota after vacationing in texas. thousands of demonstrators turned out in miami. alonzo mourning and isaiah thomas, and singer chaka khan were some of the people there.

it is the last full day of campaigning for the republican presidential candidates ahead of tomorrow's primary in wisconsin. mitt romney is making a major change in his speeches saying he'll probably be the nominee. in the past, he said only that he hoped to win the nomination. president clinton has unique insights into what romney is going through. he, too, faced a bruising battle back in 1992. he spoke to jake tapper. >> mr. romney has a different challenge than i did. mine was one long character attack. the problem that -- that governor romney has is his character attack was, you don't really know what he believes. he did this, he says that. >> you can see much more of jake's interview with president clinton coming up on "good morning america." as shelling kills more syrians, the u.s. and dozens of other countries have announced major funding for opposition groups.

arab nations will give rebel fighters $100 million. secretary of state hillary clinton pledged an additional $12 million in u.s. aid. she agreed to send communications equipment to help the rebels. new satellite images of a north korean rocket launch site appear to show preparations are being stepped up for a long-range missile launch. north korea said the launch would be sometime between april 12th and 16 tot study the country's crops and natural resources. the u.s. believes this launch could be a test launch for nuclear weapons. and anyone looking for another shot at mega millions jackpots only has to wait until tomorrow night. that's when another there are -- another $12 million prize is up for grabs. >> just $12 million? as for friday's payout, we're getting more clues as to who the winners might be. abc's tahman bradley joins us with more.

>> reporter: as the search for the winners continues, you can scratch the three of us off upk today. but 100 million americans played the mega millions. so we have a ways to go before we solve the mystery. americans who played mega millions and didn't win are returning to work today wondering who did. >> i want to know what they're going to do. >> i'm really curious. >> reporter: 100 million americans spent $1.5 billion playing mega millions. there were three winning tickets. each worth about $218 million. one from maryland, one from kansas. the winners in those states can remain anonymous. the other winner is from red bud, illinois, who will be identified. the tiny town of 3,500 is eager to learn who the lucky winner is. >> oh, my gosh. everybody is just guessing. rumors are flying. >> reporter: residents who are tired of being asked can buy this t-shirt. yes, i'm from red bud. no, i'm not the winner. in california, one of several second prize winners was

identified. mr. ramos identified five numbers. he's expected to collect about $250,000. for some americans, the talk is about how winning is not quite all it's cracked up to be. >> you'll have people crawling out of the woodwork wanting money, handouts. >> people say you'll have to worry about retiring and everything. >> reporter: "the new york post" is reporting that it's found the maryland lot tto winner. a mcdonald's worker, a single mother of seven. the post is reporting she bought the ticket as part of a pool with her colleagues. the woman is saying she bought that ticket on her own, tanya and t.j. >> oh, could get messy. tahman bradley, thank you very much. time for weather across the nation. a chance of tornadoes, hail, and powerful winds from kansas to texas. showers into the upper midwest and from new orleans to jackson, mississippi. snow showers in northern new england. morning rain from boston to d.c.

there's been another breach of credit card security. payment processer global payments says it believes fewer than 1.5 million credit card numbers were stolen. visa has dropped that company from the list of companies approved to process transactions. the processer says it expects to be reinstated soon. mastercard hasn't made a decision yet. well, the federal government is looking into reports of car engine fires. only two models are involved. the chevrolet cruze and the jeep wrangler. the fires completely destroyed the autos. most began when the vehicles were moving. gm and chrysler say they're cooperating with the probe. the skies are getting a little friendlier. analysts say airline service was slightly better last year than the year before in four important areas -- delay,

service, bumping, and lost baggage. low-cost carriers did the best. regional airlines did the worst. overseas, markets were mixed on uncertainty about china. tokyo's nikkei average added 27 points today. hong kong's hang seng lost 83. in london, the ftse opened higher. on wall street, the dow gained 131 points last week. the nasdaq index was up 24. burger king wants to beef up its sales. so it's rolling out ten new menu items today, including smoothies and snack wraps. the chain slid to number three in sales last year behind wendy's. the new items are similar to what mcdonald's already has. and moviegoers are apparently still hungry. "hunger games" was tops at the box office this weekend. even though it's no longer playing in i-max theaters. the blockbuster picked up another $61 million. medic, jean kitchens. she may have several broken ribs. bad weather kept rescuers from reaching the boat. the coast guard reached the yacht and rescued two injured sailors. since august, the team's been sailing one of ten yachts competing in a 40,000-mile race around the world. a competing team shot this video, featuring waving angry enough to make the most stalwart sailor seasick. this is not the the end of race. the team has two weeks to fix the boat, fix themselves and set sail once again, on hopefully smoother seas. clayton sandell, abc news. and now to the harrowing ordeal for a skier at lake tahoe. it took place on a black diamond trail. a husband and wife were skiing and a woman plunged into a deep divot in the snow. they needed about 20 minutes to
