thomas. and i'm kristen sze. later today the coast guard will be bringing in some of the sailors injured off the coast in a storm while heading to san francisco. katie marzullo is live on coast guard island in alameda with the latest. >> reporter: i just talked with a spokeswoman for the team. all systems are still go as far as the rescue is concerned. the injured sailors are aboard a coast guard cutter and the damaged yacht both vessels coming toward coast guard island. we have a picture of the yacht we can show you. both vessels expected here this afternoon. at last check, about 11:00 last night, they had 200 miles to go it could be 3:00 this afternoon they arrive. the spokeswoman wasn't sure of their speed. there are 11 other crewmembers aboard the 70 foot yacht.

they are onboard and they are bringing it in. here's what a spokesman for the race had to say yesterday. >> although the steering was carried away we have a back-up system. they are using that. the boat is not disabled. she not crippled. >> reporter: the yacht was mit by a massive wave saturday and lost steering. two members were badly hurt. one has a broken rib and punctured lung. the other a strain to his pelvis. they were 400 miles out. a helicopter was sent to try to airlift those injured sailors. but the weather was too bad. they decided to send a coast guard cutter out and they were able to get the two injured off the yacht on to the cutter to be treated. once they get here they will be taken to a hospital in san francisco. the race is called the clipper

11-12 around the world yacht race this leg was from china here to san francisco. the rest of the fleet has arrived and is at jack london square. katie marzullo, abc7 news. 4:30 three now. we hope to get more information this -- this morning from police about a shooting involving one of their own officers at richard's bar last night. officers were dispatched after a hold-up alarm sounded. at least one officer fired a gun after they arrived. police say there were no injuries. in pacifica fire investigators return to the scene of a deadly house fire. firefighters say a child and his great grandfather were killed in yesterday's fire. sergio quintana has the story. >> reporter: emotions boil over as a man tries to get into his house and held back by his family and police. several people raced to try and save residents from the

flames. >> we are hoping all the kids got out, everybody got out, that's not what happened. >> reporter: fire crews arrived and quickly launched attack and rescue operation. >> some of the people that were able to safely evacuate did report there were possibly two people still inside. we went in to rescue >> reporter: 13 people were in the house when the fire started. 11 were able to get out. >> there are reports from our police department there were some people that were exitinging from the second floor window. i'm -- exiting from the second floor window, including children tossed out to safety be low >> reporter: one of the children, a one-year-old baby, -- the infant with two parents taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation two did not make it out alive middle school aged boy and a great grandfather in his 90s. >> the family is not good, they are very sad when we showed up they said hi patricia. hugs and, you know, kisses and

users to change their profile pictures to a photo of the missing teen for 24s. the campaign began 6:00 yesterday evening. the -- she disappeared after leaving her mother's house for school. in san francisco, occupiers remain in a building they took over last night. occupy san francisco and occupy oakland joined forces to occupy this vacant building belonging to the sacred heart preparatory school. the group stormed in after 100 people marched from union square, delaying traffic. police are not making a move against occupiers of the private building until they get word. we will have a live report from the scene in the next half hour. the cost of california's planned bullet train system on the way down. the high speed rail authority is expected to release a revised plan later this morning in fresno.

sacramento bee reports the plan will be 30 billion dollars cheaper to bill the system. the authority originally put the project cost close to 100 billion dollars. the bee says the authority's decision to use shared tracks in the bay area and l.a. brings the price down. the southern end of the initial operating segment has been extended to the san fernando valley. we'll get an idea of how much snow the storms have dropped in the sierra. engineers will go out this morning to sure the snow pack this will be the fourth time this season department of water resources will conduct a manual survey even though winter and early spring have been relatively dry the reservoirs are 80 to 100% filled. that's okay. state leaders credit that on our conservation efforts. hopefully, this fourth measure will be better than the first. >> it was bad, we had a lot of the green patches. 4:37. time for a check on the

in florida forensic voice experts have analyzed a 911 call a woman who reported fighting and screaming outside her home in february before george zimmermann shot and killed teenager trayvon martin. after -- thousands of protesters gathered in miami yesterday in support of martin and his family. the family says police video taken half an hour after the shooting shows zimmermann with no apparent head wounds. a man who wants to be anonymous says the video doesn't tell the whole story.
