one victim not identified is kathleen ping, age 246789 her husband is in the philippines and hasn't yet been reached but her family agreed to speak to abc 7 today. and carolyn joins us now. >> they shared with me about her that she bought her beautiful wedding dress in a thrift store, she her brother enjoyed steak nights together. i'm sure families have special memory buzz this family was willing to open it's home and heart to us. 4-year-old kaiser hasn't been told his mommy is gone but the rest of the family knows all too well. >> last night, you know, my head is like... almost blowing up. and this is really hard to be here, she's not coming. you know? >> the 24-year-old kathleen worked as a secretary at the

university. and was the primary bread winner for her son as well as two little sisters a brother and her parents. all living together in east oakland. her husband still lives in the philippines and they're searching for words to tell him about the murder and let us know how much she'll be missed. >> this is my best friend. she's everything to us. >> i met the pings yesterday as they waited behind the police lines and praying kathleen was a survivor. >> you're just here, worried? >> yes. i know. yeah. and we don't have any news about her. >> she left hem a voice message 20 minutes after the shooting inaudible but now they know it's a final goodbye. they're relying on god for

an answer. >> i'm told he's been cooperative with us. he's not been remorseful but cooperative with us. >> not remorseful? perhaps that is because he may have been revenge. >> the police chief says goh was angry at a school administrator and she was, apparently, the target of the rage. police did not identify her but say she was not on the campus at the time. the suspect told investigators he wanted to get back at the school for expelling him. the chief says goh had a grudge against classmates for teasing him. >> we do know he was upset because of the way he was treated here. >> and he told investigators students treated him differently. some, he said stopped talking to him, those may be suspects motives for the murders.

and abc 7 learned he was a troubled person in other aspects of his life. his brother was w.whom he was close was an army sargeant killed last year in a car accident training for the special forces. and there was a mountain of financial problems when he lived in virginia. he was in debt to banks and apartments and had tens of thousands of dollars in leans sh one from the irs. one time, owing 2300s ndz tax autos we can find no criminal record for goh. only traffic citations. goh charged with seven counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder, car jacking and kidnapping and charges because police say he took a receptionist hostage and then

brought her into a room that. could be kidnapping. >> thank you, vick. and foremost of the day the search for murder weapon has been focused on an area of shore line park in oakland that. is where mark matthews is now. we understand this search has been halted temporarily. >> and it got so low and it we do have pictures of the police, san francisco police and the coast guard joining in trying to find the semi automatic pistol. they scanned with a robot sonar scanner and searchers had it for seven hours. >> investigators have have v.been up and are working to locate the weapon. the suspect has been cooperative during his interview with investigators up until the point where he just discarded a firearm. he's not been cooperative.

and has not provided investigator was exact location whereof he just started this firearm. >> police say leads brought them to this art of the estuary. we know there were people at the stop and it is possible police are talking with them who saw something, then then that, brought them here. this investigation is put on hold but we learned that in the next 30 minutes 50 divers from the volunteer diving association showed up here and 50 people making what has to be a night dive as they go into the water and search by groping for this missing weapon. >> we'll see what they find. >> thank you. >> and what was a place of learning until yesterday morning is now a crime scene.

oikos university is closed indefinitely. we're live with a place with no students and only investigators on campus. >> that is right. mobile labs are down and there is only a handful of investigators remain. >> students from the school in oakland walked up and down the street in front of a school where the shooting took place. and people are now beginning to leave flowers outside of the building. this afternoon, a spokesperson said that this community has been helping with the investigation. >> our citizen who's have come forward providing us so we can move forward and start to put pieces together as far as what

occurred. >> people linked to the ledge were not allowed near the university and peem teams were collecting evidence. because of the size of the crime scene and investigation, the fbi is assisting and has provided a mobile forensic lab. >> this is a large crime scene with a lot of victims. we want to make sure we're detailed so they're processing and that may go for several day autos there is he says investigators are trying to recreate by looking at where shots landed. >> that is there are cartridges and bullets and witness statements. >> this suspect will be charged in court tomorrow. the team will be back again early tomorrow morning, probably here all week. and i'm finding out some of

ever. i can tell you people are coming here very upset, and shaken. some say they know family and they know friends of the victims. so it's a difficult time for oakland to collectively in this service is supposed to start the healing process. we're calling the whole community together for a time of reflection and a prayer vigil. people from different denom maigss who are outraged and saddened by what happened and what continues to happen in the city of oakland in terms of violence and we, together, are going to stand in unity and bear burdens. >> a panel of pastors representing a cross section of the community are slated to speak here tonight. they had to move the service to allen temple baptist to accommodate the sheer number of mourners somehow were drawn here to share collectively in this tragedy.

they're likely to be other services like this incoming days near oakland. reporting live along international boulevard axe bc 7 news. >> you're right about that. thank you. another one of the victims will be remembered tonight in a separate vigil. there is a member of the tibetan community. there is a prayer service scheduled to begin here at 7:00 tonight. we've seen monks and other people beginning to arrive now. and there is a center tells us the 33-year-old was dedicated to the community and wanted to devote her life to helping others. we're told he'd been here about two years after serving five years if the exiled government education office in india. she was pursuing a nursing degree before her life ended so suddenly and tragically yesterday.
