time here. i'm eric thomas. and i'm kristen sze. we have showers, breezy, cold. >> right now breeziness being the biggest problem. some areas saw showers overnight for the most part those have ended. quiet this morning over the past three hours we received rain in the east bay. let's talk about winds, they are fast except for the reporting stations. our fastest winds 18 miles per hour at half moon bay. gusts 20 to 30 for the better part of the afternoon. topping our news, the suspect in the deadly shooting rampage at oikos college will make his first court appearance today to face murder charges. police worked late into the íf searchrked late into the for the murder weapon. terry mcsweeney is live at the oakland estuary with more.

they really did work late there. >> reporter: they worked until a few hours ago. 43-year-old one goh expected to be in court today for an rainment. they have a confession, a lot of other evidence one thing they really want, that brought them to this regional waterway yesterday until early this morning. look at divers going in the middle of the night looking for the 45 calibre semi-automatic handgun used in monday's rampage that killed seven and wounded three. goh has confessed to the killings but won't say where he threw the handgun for some reason. police have information that it is somewhere around here on the westside of this estuary. oakland pd called in some sonar scanners from the san francisco police department and boats equipped with scanners came in, divers went in 8:30 last night. >> even under the best of circumstances in the estuary

it is zero ability. the decision was made to dive at night because it didn't matter whether you had sunlight or not. you are under water, it is murky, very difficult and you are trying to find the item by feel. >> reporter: lots of other evidence against one goh. he said he was upset with the students because they teased him for his poor english. he was upset with an administrator because when left in january she wouldn't help him get back thousands in tuition. the d.a. has the case. expected to make his first court appearance today for arraign. we don't know if the d.a. going to seek the death penalty. terry mcsweeney, abc7 news. one goh has told police where he purchased the gun. he bought the weapon at a bull's-eye gun shop in castro valley in february.

abc7 news for continuing coverage of the shootings. we'll continue to bring latest on air and online at abc7news.com. in other news, in san jose one person taken to a hospital and two homes evacuated after a car crashed into a house and caused a gas leak 10:00 last night. that home and a neighboring home were evacuated and streets in the area were closed for several hours. pg&e managed to stop the gas flow around 12:30 this morning. residents from the neighboring building had been allowed to return home. yahoo expected to announce massive lay-offs possibly as early as this morning. according to the tech blog, yahoo is trimming up to 2,000 jobs, more than 14% of its staff worldwide. the company reportedly declined to comment. yahoo is still popular but hasn't kept up with the growth of google and facebook.
