defender. he's charged with seven counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder. the district attorney says that goh went to the school that day to try to get his tuition money back. they know he left on his own in november. >> 43-year-old one goh ushered into the courtroom. his body shielded from the public showing no emotion as the judge read charges against him. after the court hearing the district attorney nancy o mally told reporters murders were brutal and vicious. >> the scope sun precedented here in alameda county. this defendant went to the school with a 45 caliber weapon and had four fully loaded magazines of ammunition. >> police chief jordan says goh confessed to the murders and he doesn't appear to be remorseful.

the motive appears to be revenge. and police say he was angry at a school administrator whom he believed had wronged him. police say he had a grudge against classmates for teasing him about his broken english and awkward behavior. goh had a history of financial problems when he lived in va varks deeply in debt but has no criminal records. we learned his last job before he enrolled in oikos university was here in this korean supermarket with he worked with his father, he brief qusly worked in an asian food wholesale distributor. a source tells us he was fired because the owner said he was not the right person for the job. the district attorney says students told investigators goh was a loner and a loser, their words and he'll be back in court april 30th toj enter a plea.

>> documents released today give us more information about how police started to build their case against one goh after he turned himself n the district attorney's probable cause report states he was positively identified by three witnesses and surviving victims and goes ton say goh confessed he admitted to shooting and killing several people inside of the classroom. >> loved ones continue to share their memories. timothy brown was engaged to judith seymor, both of seymor's parents were nurses and brown says she took courses when her job as a tax analyst was outsourced. she has two adult children whom she adored. >> we're waiting for the door to open and her to walk into the door but it's not going to happen. so they're going through a lot of grief and sorry.

>> the other six victims are a 21-year-old lidia sim, grace kim, 23, kathleen ping, 24, and sairing bhuddiea and a 40-year-old doris chabuko. and there are three injured survivors. we're continuing our coverage of the tragedy throughout the afternoon and evening. loved ones of the shooting victim are preparing for a memorial tonight at 8:00. ahead on abc 7 news we'll return to the university campus where students are trying to figure out where they go from here, coming up here on abc 7 we'll go live to the waterway where divers are still searching for the murder weapon. >> now, taking you to southern california where it happened again, campus police pepper spraying student protestors in a community college in santa monica.

officers doused protestors after they tried to enter an overcrowded meeting at santa monica city college opposing a plan to offer summer school courses at higher fees than students currently pay. two ended up in the hospital. uc davis police faced criticism after this video went viral in november. >> a trucking company near dallas says it's accounting for employees after a tornado caused major damage yesterday. just take a look at pictures. the twister tossed around 14,000 tractor trailers like they were little toys and amazingly, the storm did not damage the main building. a helicopter pilot was over the scene as this was happening. >> there is a huge trailer. the huge rigs, back ends of tractor trailers being picked up and thrown hundreds of

yards, hundreds of yards its almost like a scene from a movie. that video just east of dallas. the reporter from our sister station is live this afternoon. >> there is a lot of clean up going on behind me, you can see a large pickup truck pose tosed on its side. national weather service says the winds reached 150 miles per hour and the mayor declared it a disaster zone. today was the first chance many got to come in to see how much is left of their homes. after tuesday's tornadoes crews continued to search through the damage and debris for anyone who might still be trapped. the powerful trifters left dozens of homes flattened and produced incredible images of tractor trailers flying into the air. there have been reports of injuries but so far, no one has been killed.

>> now apparently some issues there with my story. but i can tell you that think came here searched for about three hours, and actually prepping and putting on suits and apparently it was murky and rather rough for them. and there is despite the fact they had to do so, they had to leave and they tell me they cannot find anything inside of the water. this 31-foot safe boat is equipped with a sonar device, brought in at mid day to expand the search for the gun that may have been used by the suspect one goh. >> if you're looking for a body, sonar works fantastic.

and west northwest and you can see some clouds up over the north bay there. there is a sprinkle or two there earlier this afternoon. now, conditions are mainly dry, skies mainly blue but cool. temperatures into the 50s there. there are a few locations at 60 degrees now. santa rosa, 60 degrees. and 60 in antioch and san jose. these are the highlights. cold tonight with valley frost, cool, breezy again tomorrow, and warmer path trying to settle into the weekend throughout monday. and let's take a look at the frost advisory in effect from 3:00 in the morning to 8:00 tomorrow morning. low temperatures ranging from 28 degrees up to about 32. this covers north bay, and southern salinas valley. there is this kind of chill so bear that in mind. there are a look at low temperatures overnight tonight, temperatures dropping to 31 in napa. 33 santa rosa. 35 livermore, 37 morgan hill, it will be chilly around the

bay area. here is what's happening in the atmosphere, satellite shows this cool cold air that has begun to dees yompbd the bay area. that is going to be a controlling factor for the next day or so. start at 7:00 tonight much of the moisture associated with this air mass will be moving north and east, and by late tomorrow, we'll see some light snow over the sierra and we can see showers tomorrow and tomorrow evening in pretty much the same spot we saw showers into napa county and napa county mountains, tochl, into afternoon looking for breezy conditions and high temperatures into 50s and again, a few inland locations will top out at about 60 degrees and we'll see similar readings down near monterey bay. highs near 60-61 degrees, here is the accu-weather forecast. there is a nice, warm easter weekend. warming starts friday, continue tluz saturday, sunday, into monday. high temperatures sunday up around 70 degrees and similar pattern monday there, is a

a little boy and his mother have quite a story to tell after he came into the world 36,000 feet above africa on the way to fresno. the little boy's mother went into labor aboard a delta airlines flight headed from ghana to the u.s. and she began screaming after her water broke. flight attendant called for help along with an obstetrician who happened to be on the flight having been there, i knew okay we're having a baby. let's get ready. >> there was no medical sqimt qimt so the crew sterilized the gally scissors and a glass of vodka. the doctor cleared her to fly in late march. the due date was april 15th. >> amazing story. >> wow. >> they'll never forget that. >> no. nor will passenger autos actor

searching the oakland estuary called off the search without being able to locate the weapon. a strong current made it dangerous and difficult. >> the shootings put the spotlight on a small college that state regulators have been keeping an eye on this for years. and we're live with that part of the story. >> we don't know why students choose this college. it could be because it's small, and that it's a christian university but that nursing program that the accused shooter was part of is of concern to state officials. forensic specialists are continuing the grim job of going through oikos university collecting evidence from the massacre. a former nursing student is accused of that deadly shooting spree. the tragedy was the first time most of us ever heard of the small college. but the california department of consumer affairs which licenses the nursing program,

has been concerned about the academics here for some time. >> alarm bells went off many months ago. we've been working with the school to do their analysis and corrective plan. >> according to the department spokesman, problem is inability of many oikos students to pass the national nursing exam. this state wide average is 75%. state regulators consider 65% acceptable. and at oikos in 2010, only 58% passed and last year, just 41%. if things don't improve, accreditation in jep die what will happen is that their accreditation will be pro visional and they'll be given time to bring up the pass rate if they don't, it will be withdrawn. >> oikos offers degrees in divinity, music and asian

medicine. there is no accreditation for those degrees. no one at the school was available to answer questions today. and there are classes cancelled until further notice. this group from a nearby office was aware of the shooting as it unfolded and came by today. >> to acknowledge and come over and leave flowers or whatever. it's an appropriate thing for someone to do and that is what we did today. >> and right now, the focus is on the tragedy, which is as it should be, but these school officials are going to have to turn they're tensions to the academic challenges facing the nursing program. >> and there is team coverage continues on abc 7 news at 4:00. more details about the

administrator who believes she was the intend tended target and loved ones preparing for a memorial service tonight. >> and some sobering news today where yahoo announced 2000 layoffs about 14% of the work force. the stock dove but by the end of trading closed up nine cents. abc 7's david louie is live in san jose with more on what is behind this down sizing. david? >> yahoo is profitible and falling behind facebook and google in online advertising so vowing to become smaller and cut that 14%. this timing is puzzling because the new ceo won't give out details about the future until a reports quarterly earnings in two weeks. analysts aren't sure if he's preparing to sell yahoo. >> if you're going to do it properly you do it deep, fast this, looks shallow and long.

a multi million dollar mystery took a turn today. an attorney for a maryland won who -- woman who claims she won part of the jackpot admits she hasn't seen the winning ticket. she said a co-worker bought her ticket for her. that person purchased tickets for a larger pool of employees at mcdonalds. wilson's attorney blames attention for driving up his client's blood pressure. >> what we're hoping that will happen in this instance is that people will understand
