good morning, thanks for joining us us. i'm carolyn tyler. let's take a look at the weather and here is our meteorologist lisa argen. >> lisa: good morning. we are starting out lots of sunshine. few high clouds in the north bay. it's 45 in san jose. we're looting a cold front. it's going to stay offshore today. short term forecast cuts to the chase, lots of sunshine out there and very mild temperatures once again. if you do have plans, this evening you will be dry. it will be nice and mild but you will need the umbrella not only for a couple of days next week. it looks like more often than not it will be raining in terms of our five-day outlook. seven-day outlook, stay tuned. more changes to talk about. >> carolyn: breaking news this

morning. legendary cbs news man mike wallace has died at age 93. he was known for his interviews on "60 minutes". he took on corrupt politicians and bureaucracy. he described himself as nosey and insistent. some of his questions were more like interrogations what some said. he won 21 emmies as well as five peabodys in a career that spanned six decades. they say he died last night at a care facility in connecticut. official cause of his death has not yet been disclosed. again mike wallace dead at the age of 93. this morning, a 17-year-old from concord faces vehicular manslaughter charges after a crash that killed a father and his daughter. it happened on treat boulevard near oak grove road in concord. they say the teenager was speeding in his suv when he hit

three bicyclists and slammed into a building. tomas ramon reports from concord. >> reporter: flowers are being placed on the site where 41-year-old and his nine-year-old daughter were killed. they came to place flowers. she did not want her face to be seen on camera. >> it was my brother-in-law and niece that passed away. he was a good husband and good roll model for all the teenagers. >> 11-year-old daughter suffered a broken leg. they were on a usual bike ride. they were riding on the sidewalk. it happened this morning on treat envy. 17-year-old driver of this suv lost control of his car. >> hit the fire hydrant. saw the water shoot up and continued to hit things. trees and building. >> after striking them, the car

punched a hole in the building that had to be shored up by firefighters. they arrested the driver at the scene. >> at this point, speed does seem to be a factor as well as a lane change. the driver has been arrested for manslaughter. >> reporter: a friend of the 17-year-old driver says his friend called him seconds after the accident. >> he said he had gotten in car accident. he lost control and he might have hit two people. he said he did hit people but he might have killed them. >> the brother-in-law told us that he had to see where his family members died. >> i just wanted to see where it took place. i had to come down and see it for myself. >> the 11-year-old was released from john muir hospital and now recovering at home with the

family. >> carolyn: the daughter of one of the victims from monday's massacre at oikos university has learned this morning she will be able to take her mother's remains back home to guyana. judith seymour was one of the victims that died. her daughter was having trouble guessgetting had her passport renewed. now, the paperwork has been expedited. >> easier sunday services will take on a special meaning. our media partner reports today on several east bay churches that are incorprate go it into easter sunday services. ♪ >> carolyn: at oikos university, musical tributes are being offered every day except sundays. they are donating their time to sing or play classical music in

student jordan powell moved in with him. the couple went on "good morning america" declaring they had no physical contact before that. now, their love affair has ended suddenly on friday. >> they wasted no time breaking up with boy friend the former teacher the day police came to arrest him. >> he was just like, i'm sorry. i still want to be with you. i'm not believing a word he says now. don't even bother. >> therapist that interviewed them. >> love will overcoming everything. >> says this divisive action bodies well for the teenager? >> i think he is going to put this period behind her. i don't think she will stay in a vulnerable state. i experienced her as being

reflective and having the capacity to move on from this. >> if the allegations are true, it's part of a pattern. >> i would not recommend james hooker come anywhere near a school. he graf states towards young people. he uses the age differential and the power he has over them to gain validation and reassurance. in the process, the relationship becomes sexualized. >> hooker who pled not guilty to a felony sex charge against a minor posted a $50,000 bond and later seen riding his bike. he is expected in court for a pretrial hearing. jordan says she plans to stay with a family friend out of state for a while. her mother breaths a sigh of relief. >> i have been worried about her safety first and foremost. >> for jordan, moving on means not looking back.

>> carolyn: united airlines is flying out of oakland for good. it will shut down operations there in june. the airline has been at oakland for 75 years but it says the 11 flights a week to denver are no longer profitable. 39 united employees are being

offered jobs at other airports. they will continue to operate flights out of sfo and minetta san jose. >> pope benedict is calling on the syrian a regime to comply with international demands to end the bloodshed and begin dialogue. following the tra dils easter mass, celebration at st. peter's square. he denounced terrorist attacks in nigeria. a car bomb this morning killed 38 people in nigeria. the pope struggled with a hoarse voice after conducting a three hour mass. right now, glide memorial church annual easter celebration is under way featuring the glide ensemble choir and band. a free hot breakfast for the homeless is wrapping up and

san rafael but everyone else is warming up or a little warmer than yesterday morning. in fact we're sitting at 51 in mountain view. san jose, 52. 54 in antioch. 50 in oakland. 48 in napa. sunny and mild for most. few high clouds down to san rafael. slight chance of showers late tomorrow. that is going to be in sonoma county. that front has a hard time making it into the bay area but once it does it will pave the way for a second system. so the first system comes in, monday morning -- tuesday morning commute and next system is right on its heels. low continues to be several hundreds miles offshore. this is a cut-off low. with it bringing cooler weather and then there is a this system that is going to move in on wednesday. that will bring showers on thursday and perhaps friday looks dry. so the timing certainly not

quite set with all these systems. this forecast model shows that we are looking at a rain any time tuesday morning from the east bay to san francisco. to santa cruz mountains. be prepared. allow a little extra time. maybe the kids are off and you want to have a plan "b" instead of outdoor activities for much of tuesday. look what happens on tuesday night. not as rainy. this is 2:00 in the morning and we have moderate showers here. this first system is going to knock our temperatures down and secretary system is bringing the numbers down and perhaps snow showers a couple days of it in the sierra nevada. in terms of rainfall amounts, by wednesday morning we could look half an inch of rain to quarter of an inch on the peninsula. looks like more for the higher elevations of the east bay, inch inch and a quarter for the santa

cruz mountains. today nice and mild, 63 in san francisco. 65 on the peninsula with 66 in oakland. 68 in fremont and concord. looking at few 70s once again from san jose to livermore and morgan hill today. enjoy all that vitamin d. we'll have mostly cloudy skies and far south bay will see a little bit of sun and here comes the rain on tuesday and blends together on wednesday and thursday, friday we should be out of this wet weather. >> carolyn: then at the end of april that is probably it? >> yeah. >> carolyn: check out sports. they will announce the playoff schedule and sharks will find out if upcoming playoff series is against the st. louis blues whether it be on wednesday or thursday.

they defeated the kings at the tank. here is rick quan with the highlights. >> good morning. with phoenix winning last night the sharks streak of division titles came to an end. san jose had a chance to improve the playoff positions by beating the kings in a regular season finale. they were trailing 2-60 the san jose gets on the board as sam boyle gets one. patric marleau scores and check out the replay off of willie nichols. this game was decided in overtime. martin finds boyle who scores with a backhand. second goal of the game. gives the sharks 3-2 victory as san jose will face st. louis in first round of the playoffs. >> when he run the masters two years ago phil mickelson made back-to-back eagles. he was on a roll and could give

him a fourth green jacket. conditions were picture perfect at augusta national. tiger woods could only manage even par. he is 12 off the pace. mickelson made his move and nails an eagle to grab a share of the lead. playing in the second masters, peter hansen made 8 birdies. his second shot on par four 18 sets up another birdie. he is the leader at 9 under. lefty ended his round with a bang by making this birdie putt. mickelson shot a 30 on the back nine. >> we're going to type final round and second round leader, fred couples he is second back. >> and deja-vu all over again giants lost to arizona 5-4.

they wasted no time to get to madison bumgarner. this 2-1 shot made it 4-0. giants tried to rally behind home runs from sandoval and this two-one shot cuts the lead to one. but the giants got no closer, losing 5-4. j.j. pitched a perfect ninth. >> over at the coliseum, colon got roughed up by the mariners. here is a double that makes it 7-0 seattle. but oakland nearly came you a you will the way back. here a solo shot in the fifth and for the second straight game it went deep and 3-1 blast cuts the lead to 1. it's the third homer of the year but the rally would fall short as seattle holds on for an 8-7 victory. the a's have the day off.
