community. >> reporter: it was a solemn, silent and tearful candlelight vigil. family members of the nuri family wept as they held up pictures. close to 200 came to pay respects at the site of saturday's fatal accident. nuri's brother in law is still trying to cope with his loss and that of hadessa. >> my niece every time she see me, hi, i keep having her voice run through my head and i keep seeing her face. it is -- >> reporter: the 11-year-old seen even the right, survived with a broken leg. >> we have her still so we have to cherish and worship her and make sure we make her life better. >> reporter: the accident happened saturday morning 9:30. police say the 17-year-old was speeding when he lost control of his vehicle going fast enough to dislodge and send a fire hydrant 50 feet before hitting nuri and his daughters riding their bikes on the sidewalk. >> it is hard because, they

increase in autism rates in children. research on california children show there something something in a woman's pregnancy linked to higher odds for the disorder. sergio quintana is live in the newsroom. >> reporter: good morning the study links obesity during and autism when the child is born. though it does not make direct conclusions it does raise concerns because of the rising rate of obesity in the country and children being diagnosed with autism. researchers analyzed more than 1,000 children between two and 5-years-old, and their mothers. they found mothers who had hyper tension, diabetes or were obese during pregnancy were more than -- more than 60% more likely to have children diagnosed with autism than healthy mothers. there has been a sharp klein in diagnosis. the number of -- 8-year-olds with the disorder has risen to

1 in 88 compared to 1 in 110 a few years ago. partially, becauses did are more aware of disorder so they are -- because doctors are more aware of the disorder. obesity during pregnancy is also being linked to having children with other developmental delays. a third of pregnant american mothers are obese so researchers say is growing evidence to encourage mothers to maintain a healthy weight during pregnancy. spring break is over for california lawmakers who face tough decisions when they reconvene today. the legislation will decide whether to make deeper cuts to social welfare programs. reform the pension system and approve borrowing for high speed rail. governor brown is expected to ask lawmakers to appropriate

were very upset with black people. >> police say it is still too early to say whether the shootings were racially motivated. so far the two are not charged with hate crimes. family, friends and journalists from around the globe are reremembering the life of mike wallace. the man who made interviews an ordeal for his guests and made "60 minutes" a household name. he died this weekend at the age of 93. the first reporter hired on the staff in 1968. wallace began his career on game shows in the 50s. he will be remembered for his staggering list of hard nosed interviews that range from hollywood stars to heads of state. >> i hope to restore respect to the presidency. >> i probably am a dead man already. >> you like 40 million people have to see me do this. >> you are either irish or jewish. >> wallace won 21 emmys. the final one at age 89.
