juvenile prosecutor. once that is done, charges will be filed. the driver will be likely charged with vehicular manslaughter, where he's under the influence or texting at the time will determine whether he's charged with a felony or misdemeanor. >> in cases such as this it's important a full and thorough investigation takes place. that would have to be done in order to evaluate this case appropriately. >> do you think he should allowed to go home in the short term? >> no. i don't think so. and i think he heeds to pay for what he's done. >> the family released a statement, quote, we understand this will be a long process, and have been made aware the driver might be released today. we know that this country has a justice system and respect it. that is why our families moved

began cross examination today and wasted no time trying to tear part what he calls a bunch of lies. vic lee is live with the latest on this. vic? >> yesterday, ramos told the court he was not the shooter when tony boloni skpa. two sons were killed saying the shooter was a gang member in the car who mistook them for rival gang members. ramos's lawyers wrapped up questioning, now, it was the prosecution's turn. ramos's lawyer continued asking ramos about the days after the sootings. ramos said he lied to police he was home that sunday because he was afraid for his wife and young child's safety if he talked. he said he told them if they get to you you know what we can do to your family, right? zamora asked if he was a member of a faction of ms 13. he replied i was not.

ramos says he and flako had been cruising the streets and said if i had turned on the right street those people won't have died. when the prosecutor's turn to cross examine ramos he waste nod time zeroing in on the web of lies to investigators. what is a lie dorfman asked. ramos replied when he don't tell the truth. then, he listed them one after another. the lie about his being home at that time. the lie about finding no shell casings in his car. the lie about having a car washed the day after. abc 7 legal analyst dean johnson said it was risky putting ramos on the stand. >> when the defendant, especially in a case like this, takes the stand he winds up admitting something that will undermine his defense. >> and ramos appeared evasive and unsure of himself during the grilling.

checking healthy living news. yale university researchers believe they've found a possible link between dental x rays and a common type of brain tumor. the study asked what x rays they've had and when they've had them. people without tumors answered same questions. turns out patients were twice as likely to remember having a bite wing x ray. some people get x rays like that every year. >> the american dental association says you should not be getting x rays at a preset interval f you're a child and not having problems one to two years, an adult with no problem twoz to three years.
