initially. and cops responded request quickly. from what i understand this was an eviction notice. a gentleman shot a sheriff's deputy. and then, everything happened quickly. within 15 minutes, the entire neighborhood was evacuated including myself. >> and armed police and s.w.a.t. teams have been in this area and have got it sealed to have and have been going door to door. at one point we did hear a loud boom. the s.w.a.t. vehicle moved up onto the lawn in front of the unit where we understand the suspect is holed up. and then, they retreated. the spokesman says they're getting help from multiple agencies including the federal government. >> the feb is here since the investigation. >> what are they doing to help out? >> i'm sure that they'll do whatever it is they need help to do to bring this to a

resolution. >> and now, starting this afternoon, a man believed to be the suspect began putting messages up on a message board on the internet. his initial quote was quote, i just shot me some cops, asking me anything. hurry, though. s.w.a.t. is about to bust in. there are a series of posts after that that appear to egg the suspect on to kill more police officers and the suspect appears to respond that he intends to do just that. there some reports the suspect may have explosives. and we're expecting another briefing here but in the meantime this area is sealed off and two people, dead. in modesto abc 7 news. >> that is stunning. thank you. we'll follow that closely. now to the weather. much of the bay area got a

hayward. 32 in oakland. there is wind, rain, thunderstorms. rain intensifies and later in the day we'll see scattered showers with a chance of isolated thundershowers. warming beginning this weekend. there is a passage of the frontal system. now we're looking at the next weather maker, again, organized tonight and scattered showers tomorrow, high pressure building in for a dry, warmer weekend. we'll start at 7:00 tonight. by 9:00 we'll see it might hiting numerous areas of heavy rain. that is continuing into early morning hours, 5:00 in the morning and we'll see how wide spread heavy rain will be.

during remainder of the day, there are snow levels dropping and maybe mixed precipitation. wide spread showers and there are things easing up, we'll take a look at rainfall totals up to an inch mafl and a half and santa cruz mountains maybe up to an inch. three quarters in the south bay. and into sierra, above 3,000 feet looking for a 9-13 inches of snow. and there are hazardous conditions, lows into upper 40s and highs only into 50s, we'll probably not see 60 degrees tomorrow, mid up toer 50s here and tomorrow afternoon, giants have a home opener. and sky conditions? well, partly sunny skies and

about 200 parents and children expected to gather in san francisco in about an hour. they're demanding more action to address low test scores among english language learners.

>> now most people who will gather here are immigrant parents concerned their kids are not ged geting a quality education and they're concerned they aren't preparing foir children for college. we know this. latino immigrant students score poorly on academic tests and highest dropout rates in the sti we need our latino kids to graduate. to have the same opportunities that ale aul kids in the state have. that is all we're asking for, equity for all kids. >> now, 65% of the latino students in san francisco graduate from high school. about the same as african american buzz lower than other ethnic groups now latinos have highest dropout rate, 20%.
