initially. and cops responded request quickly. from what i understand this was an eviction notice. a gentleman shot a sheriff's deputy. and then, everything happened quickly. within 15 minutes, the entire neighborhood was evacuated including myself. >> and armed police and s.w.a.t. teams have been in this area and have got it sealed to have and have been going door to door. at one point we did hear a loud boom. the s.w.a.t. vehicle moved up onto the lawn in front of the unit where we understand the suspect is holed up. and then, they retreated. the spokesman says they're getting help from multiple agencies including the federal government. >> the feb is here since the investigation. >> what are they doing to help out? >> i'm sure that they'll do whatever it is they need help to do to bring this to a

resolution. >> and now, starting this afternoon, a man believed to be the suspect began putting messages up on a message board on the internet. his initial quote was quote, i just shot me some cops, asking me anything. hurry, though. s.w.a.t. is about to bust in. there are a series of posts after that that appear to egg the suspect on to kill more police officers and the suspect appears to respond that he intends to do just that. there some reports the suspect may have explosives. and we're expecting another briefing here but in the meantime this area is sealed off and two people, dead. in modesto abc 7 news. >> that is stunning. thank you. we'll follow that closely. now to the weather. much of the bay area got a

break from rain but heavy clouds still hanging overhead thchl is a view from emeryville. more rain is coming up soon. sounds like a lot of it. >> and soon. as a matter of fact just in time for afternoon and evening commutes there is active weather in places turbulence. there is into north bay there are thunderstorms which, foremost of the day were off shore but now moving to sonoma county coastline there. is rain moving into lower marin county as well down to the golden gate. pulling back you can see rain pushing through golden gate now in a large area of rain in the east bay around dublin and moving rapidly. most centered around dublin, now pushing eastward this, system getting better organized. a wider view, you can see thunderstorms, some severe over coastal waters most of the day beginning to push

strikes over the area tonight beginning to hit the coastline now so there is live view. you can see clouds there. you don't see anything falling yet but farther north it is falling now. there are thunderstorms you can see they're beginning to hit the coastline and active weather fushing into sonoma county as well. there are showers developing now and there are pockets of heavier shower activity. there is where there is a recent area of wet weather. pockets of rain moving in now just north of the golden gate. we've got moving over to the east bay as well and into santa cruz mountains area, now it's beginning to get organized. there are winds gusty. 21 miles per hour gusts in

hayward. 32 in oakland. there is wind, rain, thunderstorms. rain intensifies and later in the day we'll see scattered showers with a chance of isolated thundershowers. warming beginning this weekend. there is a passage of the frontal system. now we're looking at the next weather maker, again, organized tonight and scattered showers tomorrow, high pressure building in for a dry, warmer weekend. we'll start at 7:00 tonight. by 9:00 we'll see it might hiting numerous areas of heavy rain. that is continuing into early morning hours, 5:00 in the morning and we'll see how wide spread heavy rain will be.

about 200 parents and children expected to gather in san francisco in about an hour. they're demanding more action to address low test scores among english language learners.
