laura? >> we're now in for the 7th hour. it appears in just the past hour police have gotten more aggressive in tactics in trying to flush out the suspect who remains holed up behind me. we've seen the s.w.a.t. team in front of the home, it appears one is discharging flash grenades. we've heard two loud explosions and another robot seems to have a camera attached to it. so far there is a suspect appearing to be hunkered down inside of the unit. we have not seen any movement. there is a huge police presence here. we've seen officers in and out of the vehicle. two people, one of them a sheriff's deputy was shot to

abc 7 is live where teams are wrapping up now. >> this has been a day long operation. the dive team is still in the water, i can tell you they have eliminated four of the five areas of interest and they're at that final location now in their search for evidence in the case of sierra lamar. the team has high tech help, capturing a thousand images this week. >> this takes us about 20 hours to take a look at images and try to determine which ones look best and which we should disregard. >> about five proved to be interesting enough to investigate further. they use gps and return to the areas for a look. >> they can tell you that is interesting. down side is bodies of water are filled with tree trunks

and and divers doing a thorough search and directed by someone on land with a rope. >> we started with 100 feet out. and bring them in, three feet at a time. so with overlap. >> sierra lamar has been missing since march 16th. the equipment has been effective in other cases. >> in one case divers had been looking for about 20 days and we found in under an hour. >> and that case involved a fisherman in alameda county. once this wrapped up here, the dive team is expected to be at yubis reservoir tomorrow.

parents in san francisco is demanding change change. only 66% of the latino students graduate from high school. lower than other ethnic groups. latinos tied with african americans for highest drop out rate. 20%. worse than white students and asian americans. in the fall, 2010 the san francisco school district came with a program to focus on improving the quality of education in communities like mission district and bay view hunter's point. the program has been getting good results. >> there is up to seven schools showing greatest growth in api scores four were in the superintendent zone. >> the school district hopes to see better results at the end of the year. lower renya with the central american resource center helping immigrant programs. >> there is a willingness to

with breaking news this afternoon. a standoff of an accused killer show nose sign of ending. a sheriff's deputy and another man shot and killed while trying to evict someone from his home. abc 7 news has been reporting live for us all evening. what's happening there now? >> there is these robots going back and forth over the past hour and a half or so. they're little devices we've seen two of them. one appears to be handling some explosives and we've been standing here and have seen it release two different explosives. they appear to be aimed at this home, where we understand the suspect is holed up. we've seen, it appears they're getting ready to launch another one, we've heard them trying to communicate with this man suspected of killing both the sheriff's deputy and

another man. both individuals were trying to serve he vick papers but there is a bull horn to try to communicate. they're saying something to the effect of jimmy we know you can hear us, as far as we know there has been no response from the suspect inside of the house. we can show you what this looks like now and there is about is information and stanislaus county sheriffs confirmed the suspect has been using social media since this occurred. so there is a lot of pieces here how it fits together. the standoff continues and many still evicted. >> california high speed rail authority okayed a scaled back plan today in hopes of keeping it moving forward.
