race when it encounters a series of large waves. the coast guard said winds were averaging 25 knots. while swells reached 10-15 feet. one person died and four are missing. >> the vessel was hit bay series of waves that caused it to roll. and then it eventually end up on the rocks, hard aground, at the farallon islands, and pretty much all the crew were in the water at that point. >> of the eight people onboard there are three known survivors. video from the coast guard shows the crew hoisting one into the helicopter. as for the search for the missing, three helicopters, two patrol boats, a cutter, and a c130 airplane are involved in the effort. >> certainly as time goes on, the chances of survival decrease. we're hopeful that perhaps someone had on their pfd or some sort of gear that would allow

them to stay alive for a longer period of time. >> reporter: the coast guard says the temperature of the water is only 50 degrees. they say continue the search until the sun goes down and then decide where to go from there. >> alan: our team coverage continues with sergio quintana live in belvedere where a vigil is still underway. >> reporter: we're told that the three survivors of the crash are at this vigil. they're inside at the moment. also in the last hour we have learned the name of the fourth person who is still missing. we're only told the name of elmer morrissey this afternoon an hour ago because the yacht club has spent much of the day trying to contact his family in ireland. a lot of people at this vigil are still holding out hope all four people will soon be found.

>> as the search continues for the missing crew of the low speed chase, details are emerging about the people aboard the 39-foot boot when she ran aground. these are pictures of the yacht during earlier races in the san francisco bay. killed in the crash, 41-year-old mark kasannan. friends say he loved being on the water. his body was covered by a black hawk crew saturday. his death makes this the worst tragedy in the history of the san francisco yacht club. >> an event like this that happens, of this magnitude, is going to hit every sailor and racer in the heart. >> reporter: with'em still missing there's a possible the tragedy could get worse. among the missing, alexis bush, the only woman aboard the eight-person crew. and this is video she posted during a prior race. also still missing, 25-year-old jordan fromm who lives in san for example. fromm and bush were thrown

overboard, along with alan cahill and elmer morrissey, three others were rescued saturday. those saved include the yacht skipper, james bradford, and crew members, nick voss and bryan chong. the cruise's farallon race is an annual event carried out in part by the san francisco yacht club. >> weather conditions were typical for this time of year. several crew members from other boats that returned confirmed they conditions were not abnormal. >> reporter: but this afternoon i talked to a woman who knows all the people aboard the boat. she tells me the four people who are missing were very strong swimmers, so she is holding out hope they will still be found. she also says this morning there are lot of boaters who left from the yacht club this morning, to actually head out to the farallons and join in the continuing search. reporting live, abc-7 news. >> ama: the organization behind the race issued this statement:

the yacht racing association of san francisco bay, the ocean yacht racing association, and the board of directors, would like to express our deepest sympathies at this time of sorrow to the family and friends of the lost crewmen of low speed chase. we off ore --er thoughts and prayers to the families. >> alan: petaluma police believe two people died in a murder-suicide. sever people called after hearing gunshots around 2:00. police discovered two people who have been killed. they don't believe anyone else are involved in the shooting. tonight san jose police are still not releasing the names of two people killed in saturday's murder-suicide there. but police have confirmed a 17-month-old baby found in the back of the car is the daughter of the two victims. witnesses say the man pulled out a gun and shot the knock the parking lot of a strip mall and

then turned the gun on himself. >> ama: a private funeral was held for the five people killed inside san francisco home. three women and and to men were found dead. the victims are a mother, father, adult daughter and son and his girlfriend. police have not disclosed a motive, sources say it had to do with a gambling debt. the suspect has pleaded not guilty to the charges. right now richmond police are looking for a possible murder suspect who ran away after a car crash. the suspect's car ran into a light pole. police got one man after the crash but the other managed to get away. officers and a k-9 unit are searching the thick brush on the nearby railroad tracks, north of the 85-80 split in richmond. >> alan: in morgan hill volunteers put in another full day of searching for missing teen sierra lamar. the 15-year-old was last seen more than a month ago.

volunteers checked in this morning at burnett elementary school, which has become the sierra search center. last week volunteers searched the meadows and on hillsides while drivers checked out -- diverrers checked out reservoirs. '. >> ama: tonight president obama made his first public comment odd the secret service scandal. the incident happened before he arrived in the country. 11 membered of the secret service personnel and five u.s. military receivesmen allegedly participated in the misconduct. >> what happened here in columbia is being investigated by the director of the secret service. i expect that investigation to be thorough, and i expect it to be rigorous. >> ama: none of the president's security detail was directly involved in the incident. one of the concerns is secret servicemen opened themselves up to blackmail with such behavior. the secret service says president obama's personal security was never compromised.

>> alan: a note toorous curve along grizzly peak driver almost took the life of a driver. he said he swerved to miss a jogger in the fog and skid off the road. he said he was surprised to see there were no signs or reflectors marking the curve. >> the police officer said most of them were knocked down by cars and there's been numerous accidents throughout the years. >> alan: one tow truck company refused to pull the vehicle off the ledge so a heavy duty tow truck had to be called in to pull it up. there were no injuries. >> ama: changes coming to commuter using the golden gate bridge. tomorrow, part of doyle drive

will be closed nightly. the right-hand northbound lane will be closed so crews can remove the sidewalk. it's in preparation for the weekend closure on april 27th. traffic using 19th avenue will not be effected. >> alan: the federal government says google is refusing to cooperate in its investigation. according to the federal communications commission, the mountain view bailed giant is stonewalling it be refusing to answer e-mails and identify employees. the fcc is investigating the data collection practices which including use google street mapping programs to pick up information from home wireless networks like passwords and text messages. the fcc find google $25,000 for obstructing its investigation. >> ama: today is april 15th. have you done your taxes? yes? no? maybe? if not, don't panic. you have until tuesday to get your return postmarked and on its way.

temperatures starting to come down. the sea breeze starting to move in the low clouds and fog. so san francisco has dropped off to 54. 52 in half moon bay. low 60s. napa, santa rosa, a few 70 in antioch and liver movement san jose, 6 5. here's a look at highlights. we'll look for coastal clouds to move a little further inland overnight tonight. we'll start off with some morning overcast, and then by mid-day sunshine. we'll keep clouds near the coast for your monday and then get ready for a big warmup towards the latter part of work, and the high pressure is going to start to build in this is the low clouds and fog that sat near the coast, and all of this thanks to the westerly wind will move back inland. so we'll have a class base over much of the bay area so temperature should not drop off that much tonight. generally in the mid-to-upper 40s. santa rosa tonight, with low

cloud expected. 44, 49 for san francisco. 45 for livermore and antioch, 48 degrees. here is a look at that storm system to the north of us. this is low clouds and fog. high pressure, you can see a nice ridge starting to carve itself out. most of the activity will stay to the north. live doppler 7hd picking up a little light rain, a lot of it in the last two or three hours. starting to evaporate. you can see it right there. not much at all moving in. so we won't really be concerned with this cold front as high pressure really starting to build in, you can see the ridge here, the amplitude of it. so the storm track will be pushed the north of us. at the tail end of the cold front could bring us a few high cloud the next couple of days. it will also help to increase the low clouds and fog right near the coast but as we head the latter part of the work week, the high will be over us
