dr. martin luther king junior and spoke with abc 7 news political reporter mark matthews and what did he have to say about this controversial case? >> well, he came here to talk to students about his growing up. as son of a share cropper in alabama. growing up the son of a share cropper daring to walk into a whites only waiting room. all of the time he's been preaching nonviolent resistance to injustice, his thoughts on trayvon martin were in line with that message, john lewis began with telling students where he came from and how far the country has come. he was not allowed in town library. you could not eat at the town lunch counter. his parents told him that is just the way sit, don't make trouble. he was a key note speaker on the march on washington now the day king delivered his dream speech he is inspired

a funeral for a deputy killed in the line of duty last week. laura? >> the reception is still underway here, these services today were attended by the governor and attorney general but they were not the focus. this was about a dedicated family man and deputy known by

a week from tonight doyle drive will be closed for the weekend tonight a look at the work and what it's like. >> these are the final days in the life of the rinl nal doyle drive with demolition scheduled to begin a week from tonight. noi, when you come off the golden gate bridge you'll go to a new bridge through a tunnel, now photographer is going to give us a sense of the detour, we're pushing into just a little bit of a corner

of road at ground level you can see there. and then that detour passes underneath the existing doyle drive. you can see another part of it over there with the white barrier on either side of the roadway. and the big yellow heavy equipment there. the thing to understand is that will carry directions and the existing drive will be gone there is more heavy equipment arriving every day getting ready to demolish most of doyle drive. the connector dating from 1936 coming down after a weekend closure beginning friday. after that, motorists will come and go on the golden gate bridge. there is a new temporary ground level detour with a new temporary intersection. it will be a lot to digest for
