doyle drive will close completely for the weekend so the old doyle drive can be demolished. and today, abc 7 got a behind the scenes look at the project and joins us from there, live. >> we're in the national cemetery looking down on doyle. we saw from this vantage point we can give you a sense of the

detour going into use beginning monday, april 30th. you can make out just a little snippet of the ground level roadway there with orange cones on it. it passes and curves and underneath existing doyle. you can see norm part on the other side with a white barrier and that heavy equipment sitting on it now still has to be paved and striped. but the important thing to grasp is that when you're on that detour beginning april 30th doyle drive as we see it now and have known it will be gob of -- gone. this animation shows what it should look like in 2015 with traffic coming off the golden gate bridge heading into the first tunnel. the new southbound connector to that tunnel is complete and so is that first tunnel. but come monday morning after 30th both northbound and southbound traffic will be on that new bridge and in the new tunnel.

going into the esthetic part of it. we're in a national park and shadow of golden gate bridge. we've got to make this look pretty. >> that moveable barrier will be a huge safety improvement over thestisting doyle where there is no barrier, currentry. the detour will be a vast improvement on seismic safety,, which we should remember is the whole reason behind this replacement project. so again, the full weekend closure begins a week from tonight, friday, april 27th at 8:00 continuing throughout that weekend until 5:00 monday morning, april 30th. and we're being warned to stay away from the doyle drive area, and from the golden gate bridge which will be open. they expect it to be very, very clogged. >> right. >> live at doyle drive abc 7

on to consumer news, like millions of others a bay area couple lost their home their jobs in the recession. >> and they had a hard time getting a refund for overpaid bills. >> and this was brutal. this couple had to move out of their home of 15 years and they've been quickly shutting off services like gas and electricity and after they moved out, they found they were still paying for the alarm system they had left behind.

>> this is my dream, you know? quote unquote the american dream. it was devastating when kathleen and her husband lost heir home to foreclosure nearly a year later the house sits empty and hurt remains. >> and i cried for a couple months and even now, i get... >> the couple moved into this apartment and now, a reminder of their loss. a bill from adt home alarms which had protected the house they lost. >> and end up paying for two extra months because they're saying i owed money to them. i went ahead and paid it. >> kathleen says she cancelled service last june when they had to leave the home and in that flurry of moving she overpaid. adt agreed to refund her $215 but months later she hadn't received her money. >> and some people say it's not a lot of money, maybe not to some people.
