janitors in the bay area and 10,000 in los angeles say they're facing tough negotiations for a new contract. they work for a dozen contractors that do cleaning for high profile companies. >> there money in this economy. workers should not have to go without affordable family health care, especially a lot of the client companies that are the decision makers in terms of money. and negotiations. >> the union says the issue is a $3,000 deductible. by taking to streets they hope to get attention ask support if it held up traffic. rosa linda has been a janitor 13 years. >> there is a lot of people with a big family. they have little kids sometimes personally i use medicare for the rest of my life. now, i cannot afford this medicine. that is what we're really

worried about it. >> there is a statement the union's proposals would amount to quote a 30% hike in wages health care and pension costs and it's plan would implement cost sharing consistent with those covering at most private sector companies. >> the existing contract expires monday at midnight. the union says it's prepared to go out on strike early tuesday morning. negotiations are still underway today in a hotel in south san francisco. >> thank you david. and san francisco's mission district police station was evacuated for more than an hour today after someone walked in with an explosive device officers took it to the parking lot where a bomb squad robot looked it over before waits rendered safe. police evacuated several nearby businesses and tell us the device was net homemade but would not say if it was a military relic.

>> someone opened fire on this house in novato and police are trying to figure out who and why. last night around 6:30 a shooter sprayed the house with bullets. those inside are getting ready to sit down to dinner when shots were fired. no one was hurt. police are measuring the trajectory to get a better picture of the origin. detectives believe this house was targeted but say they have no idea why. >> oakland police say a pot bust being made today is one of the biggest ever in the city. officers seized $1 million worth of illegal marijuana from a warehouse on 89th avenue on east oakland. abc 7 news was there. >> wow. wow. >> the bust came as a shock to some of the people who worked next to this warehouse on 89th street them. say they didn't see any sus spishus activity going on but police tell us they've been doing surveillance several weeks. officers called it a very

sophisticated grow operation. >> we recover add prochlly 2500 marijuana plants. approximately 50 pounds of dried processed marijuana which were carried in 33 gallon container autos they arrested 11 people. and sergio works next door and didn't suspect a thing. >> i guess don't see anything. >> across the street floyd had suspicions because of something else. >> and he knew he can smell it. >> he wasn't surprised but was shocked to hear about arrests. >> and 11 people is the big thing. you know? i never saw 11 people go in and out of interest there. you'd think you'd see more groceries or something. i don't know when they did it.

>> they somehow managed to get groceries in there. a source tells us there was a break room for workers with snacks video games and a place to grab a nap. police say those who were arrested did not put up a fight. officers confiscated several weapons and two pit bulls. it appears this is being operated as a business one of those arrested and interviewed told officers that he was working here and this is because he needed a job. >> we're now less than 28 hours from closure of doyle drive promising to turn afk into gridlock all weekend. doyle drive is one of the seismicly unsafe roadways in the state. tomorrow beginning at 8:00 p.m. caltrans will shut it down and begin tearing down the roadway. pretty much everything between highway 1 and marina boulevard. so nearby businesses say this

whatever issues were because passengers have been let off. no specifics on what the illness was or what happened with that woman. but as we get updates we'll pass them along to you. >> moving on to business now now. an earnings extraf ganza. amazon and xynga were the most notable. >> there is shares spiking in after hours, after the world largest e-commerce company reported strong numbers led by demand for the kindel. revenue up 35% from the year before. $13.2 billion. net income narrowing tho $130 million compared to $201 million before. amazon is spending big on building new versions of the kindel and the company says it's kindle fire now the best-selling item on the web

site. other story of the day is zynga. esh earnings beat estimates. there are stories they're starting to reduce it's reliance on facebook and says zynga introduced a new gaming portal to diversify away from the network and paid $180 million for the mobile app maker omg pop maker of the game draw something. zynga now owns six most-popular games on facebook. as for broader market gains across the board after better than expected housing data overshadowed this week's unemt employment report. your bloomberg silicon valley index up slightly. google agreed to pay a $25,000

fine related to privacy issues. the search giant being investigated by the justice department as it collected information for a new program. frc says google should pay for delaying the probe. google said feds closed the probe it will pay the fine to put the investigation behind it. and spotify planning to launch a new music service. the provider is developing an internet radio service competing with pandora. it would be cheaper to operate than the current business because radio royalty rates are lower i'm emily chang with bloomberg west. >> thank you. >> gorgeous blue skies out there now. quite a change.

looking for revenge it was the fourth day on the witness stand for young, he was on the hot seat. edwards attorneys accused young of lying in order to profit from the scandal from the affair. the key issue in this trial is whether edwards participated in an illegal campaign finance scheme to protect his political career. the prosecution says or whether he was trying to keep the affair secret from his wife. the person he was trying to avoid finding out about the affair was mrs. edwards saying in court today i assumed to. young said. >> the defense's position is that this was a personal cover up. not a political activity. >> today the dpeens team tried to rip holes into two key areas of the story. the time line when did young learn hunter is pregnant? he cited may 2007 in the book but june 2007 in a court testimony. the money young cited different dollar amounts a wealthy donor said she'd

provide. the defense is trying to use these to call into question young's claims that he and edwards discussed hunter's pregnancy and who to ask for money to take care of her. yesterday, the former democratic presidential hopeful seems happy with results of the tough line of questioning. >> andrew young's wife could take the witness stand tomorrow. carolyn? >> this case is about campaign finance regulations and there is a major focus on the affair. >> a lot of focus on the affair and there is describing hunter as someone very volatile someone who would throw fits and take the story of the affair to the media. he says i needed money to keep her quiet. defense attorneys are saying

you were asking for yourself. there is a lot of back and forth about that. tough questioning at times a judge seemed frustrated the focus was on the affair pregnancy and baby, and not on that trail of money because that is what this case is about. but the defense team is trying to do all they can to poke holes into the story and discredit him as a witness. >> thank you. >> the secret service is investigating new allegations of agents hiring prostitutes in el salvador last year and kiry tv says agents and military personnel received sexual favors and took prostitutes to hotel rooms. this is hours after the janet napolitano told lawmakers a similar incident in columbia was just an isolated case. >> he witnessed some of the secret service agents going into v.i.p. area to get sexual favors for cash.

and he says they were working really hard to try to get strippers back to their hotel rooms. >> the agency says it's investigating the new allegations so far eight agents lost their job autos a military judge refused to dismiss the charge against the soldier accused in the wiki leaks case. charged with aiding the enemy and his hearing is underway in maryland. prosecutors claim he stole hundreds of thousands of war logs and tables and transmitted them to antisecrecy center. he could face a maximum term of life. >> pakistan deported osama bin laden's family to saudi arabia. they were detained by pakistani authorities after last may's u.s. raid that killed bin laden. the wifes and two adult daughters were convicted of
