>> it's more difficult. crews are down today. they're in their 15th round, and there's no 16th round, they have to finish. >> with the ramp a pile of rubble the work has shifted to paving the temporary roadway from the new tunnel down to the marina. the demolition has opened up a whole new view of the bay. >> never saw i'd see it happen, but it's amazing. it's going to be great improvement. just i've always wanted to see this great view from here. >> the simulation shows a whole knew view of drivers coming into san francisco. after passing through a tunnel the road curves before heading toward the marina. there will be warning signs and a lower speed limit. >> very safe alignment. there are no issues even with the curves. people will have to get adjusted to it. and that takes time.

tunnel, you veer to the left and back on to the preexisting roadway. >> ama: people have been trying to get around the construction all weekend long. here's a live look at the roadway. you can see from sky 7hd. cars are kind of moving a little slowly on the right-hand side. but things aren't too bad. sergio quintana is live at the golden gate ferry terminal. >> reporter: it's very clear that lots of people decided to avoid the doyle drive construction by avoiding driving over the golden gate bridge altogether and one of the more popular alternatives was taking a ferry boat. this morning, ferries from marin county to san francisco, sold out, and look at this. all those people in there are waiting for the 6:45 ferry because the last three have sold out this afternoon, going back to marin county. >> the ferry has sold out. >> with the giants playing and

but not too busy. for those who chose the bay bridge, traffic backed up sunday heading into the toll plaza, just like saturday. >> bay bridge driving. >> how was the backup? >> bumper-to-bumper all the way. real slow. >> reporter: he avoided the traffic headache he got yesterday by ferrying into san francisco now. thousands chose to take the ferry to avoid the ongoing demolition of doyle drive, and now thousands are lining up to take the ferry back home and they're boarding boats that are nearly packed to the gills. >> last night i was talking to one of the ferry pilots who tells me the ferries between san francisco and larkspur, they carry 450 passengers, so far this afternoon three of them have been sold out, two from here, and the one from san francisco at at&t giants stadiu. we're now watching the 6:45 to

lan feather ares are flying over the proposed ban on foie gras, and top chefs are banning together to stop it. it's made from the liver of ducks or geese through a fattening process. it's the process that led to the ban. bay area chez say the ban is overkill and want strict new laws to regulate production. >> city college of san franciscoes cooking up plans to save the cafeteria program. the college's culinary department needs to cut $250,000 or it has to shut its doors in july. the cafeteria is run by culinary arts students and will lose the hands-on training that gives them an edge in the job market.

coast. starting to burp off -- burn off the coast for a couple of hours. now the onshore winds are going to move inland. 11:00 tonight a lot of the overcast starting to move inhappen, through the gaits, bay, the east bay locations. this is how it should look tomorrow morning for the 5:00 a.m. commute. even out towards the tell a -- delta, low overcast. maybe dense fog near the golden gate bridge. that could slow down the monday morning commute even more so than the doyle drive area. so, keep that in mind. by 3:00 tomorrow afternoon, most of the fog will burp back -- burn back to the coast. lows tonight, 50s east bay. the low clouds and fog starts to move in this weekend, the jet stream is well to the north. delightful weather, monday, tuesday, and wednesday, this is going to start to push on
