they're said to be identified members or associates of a very violent street gang here in south san francisco. the large scale gang sweep included raids on the northern peninsula. 13 were arrested in all. u.s. attorney said their crimes were violent. >> four attempted murders in daily city. december 18th, 2010. three murders in south san francisco on december 22. 2010. >> police and federal agents raided this house in san bruno at about 4:00 in the morning, jose morales was in the gar yanl. >> i put my hands up. and then, all of a sudden it went boom. and everyone started running. >> the boom was a flash bang. he says dozens of officers entered the home and he says they searched the house. >> weapons is what they're looking for. >> they arrested his

girlfriend and her 25-year-old son. the operation tied to a triple gang murder near this small park in december, 2010. shootings left three others wounded. the gang members wear red. police say the shooters are likely their rivals. another faction of the c street gangs. since this shooting and retaliation hits, police assigned four officers to fight the gang problem. >> we spent a night with them, making arrests and showing us turfs of the rif yam gangs. >> it could bring a potential death sentence to four defendants and life in prison for others. >> police raided 11 locations

and they've started packing up at about 5:00 this evening and i'm told that by 7:00, the road will be open. and it's been a long day here. >> thank you. a store owner shot and killed a would be robber this afternoon. police say it appears to be self-defense, police got the call of a robbery taking place and when they arrived they found a 37-year-old man dead on the floor. the store owner told officers the man went back to his office. and the owner heard him and shot the man. investigators plan to review the surveillance video to see whether the suspect acted alone. >> police are looking for help finding a gang member responsible for the brutal beating death of a 14-year-old boy. and he died from head injuries suffered from an assault friday night. police say he was attacked moments after his father dropped him off, it mate have

you can see behind smee part of this huge redevelopment project underway here. and as we witness today, it's all about rebuilding this community. the redevelopment project will trance form the old ship yard into this. homes, businesses and parks and a retail center. with this project came a promise by the developer to also contribute $37 million towards job training. today the first installment made, more than $7 million. >> next six months we'll have those programs that they want to prioritize to get job training. >> there is to try to assist people. >> the fountdation will act like a gate keeper deciding how money is spent in two areas. >> have got to make sure the
