damage. doesn't that look nice? a beautiful shot. we will see a wind shift today with high pressure building in over the eastern pacific and that means a warming trend. receipt now it's 50 in san francisco, but look at half moon bay. no wind here at all. pretty cool at 39 degrees. 43 livermore, 49 in san jose. so the setup will be changing with high pressure building into the north of us. that's the line from the north. and northeastly winds. compression natural heating really warming us up. we will look at gusty winds in the higher elevations but overall lots of sunshine from the coast to our inland valleys. i'll be back with a look at the temperatures. terry. >> thank you very much. new this morning out of sonoma county, a magnitude 4.3 earthquake. the u.s. geological survey said it was centered three miles east

of the center about 24 miles north of santa rosa struck at 2:23 this morning nearly 2 miles below the earth's surface. no injuries or damage. cinco de mayo celebration necessary past years have been destructive and sometimes violent. officers aren't taking any chance because of a recent uptick in gang violence. >> it's not crazy yet in downtown san jose but this manager is closing her santa clara street shop early. for 20 years she sees what happens outside her door during during cinco de mayo. >> every cinco de mayo there's fights everywhere, blood in the streets and it's getting worse. >> she remembers the violence six years ago when many people were arrested. t prevents people from getting downtown this weekend. >> we're staying away from downtown. i don't want to expos any children to the violence or anything that would go bad here. we are going to stay home and relax. >> he said he will leave downtown if history begins to repeat itself. >> coming are going to come out with guns and knives, i don't

want to be near that, nor my kids. >> the police are ready to deal with gang police if it happens. dozens are deployed on horseback, motorcycles, in cars and on the streets. >> we are will have enough officers working and if he with have to we can call for mutual aid. >> this weekend is supposed to be a celebration, not an excuse for violence. >> he is thinking positive. >> i think it will be better than last year because i see more security here in the downtown. >> san jose police say they aren't just concentrating on suppression and enforcement but also prevention. the gang intervention unit is taking some troubled youth out of town on field drips during which time they will get counseling in order to lure them away from the gang life. >> abc7 news. new this morning police are looking for two men who robbed two employees of a mill valley spa at gunpoint last night. a man wearing a dark hat,

glasses and hooded sweatshirt held up the workers in back of the miller spa. a second possible suspect had tattoos on his arms. they forced the workers into a back room and they stole property from the spa and workers. they made off with the workers vehicles. a white kia sedona van and a honda civic. the police are helping anyone with information will give them a call. in oakland police are trying to going out who robbed up to 20 people in barbershop last night. it happened just after 8:00 at the barbershop on international national boulevard. officers tell us four men with handguns wearing green hoodies walked into the shop and started robbing people. nobody injured. a surreal site after the robbery. barbers kept cutting hair even as the police were conducting their investigation. well, this morning the driver of a stolen car is recovering after being shot by a police officer. it happened after one led the

police and chp on a chase from highway 4 to interstate 80 yesterday. the man turned into the valley road, into the kaiser hospital parking lot, got out of his car and started shooting at police. the police returned and hit the man in the shoulder. some shopkeepers in san francisco's mission district are just now getting back to business after may day vandals went on a rampage on tuesday. but those business owners are not getting stuck with the repair bill. abc7 explains how a social networking page is bringing in donations to them them out. >> that is surveillance video from outside the police station on monday night. that's what vandals took to valencia street to destroy everything in sight.

this woman new there was a demonstration going on at delores park that night. >> we noticed people wearing black mask and holding crow bars and holding bats and there was a car in front of us and they broke down the windows. >> the vandals smashed their front windows. >> the cost to row pair that is phenomenal. >> now there's help for the affected businesses. bench is a designer at face back is leading a fundraising effort to collect money. the home store is all for it. >> facebook.com, i think it's base.com/bench i guess it is. the goal is great. it's sweet. >> the goal is to raise $10,000 to give to businesses. it will be need-based. >> and probably like two days after the incident we raised about $5,000 so it's awesome to see that the people in our neighborhood really they care. >> he wasn't working the night of the vandalism but got a good look at it the next morning. >> i think the people who were vandalizing didn't realize there are actually faces behind the stores that they are defacing. we aren't like macy's or target. we've been here building up our

business for many years. >> there's six weeks left but they have well on their way to the $10,000 goal n mission district, abc7 news. a suspicious package in san francisco caused a nearly four-hour shut down of busy streets and freeway ramps yesterday evening. it was san jose and geneva avenues from a police robot tugged on what looked like a suitcase stuck to a street sign. both streets were closed as the on and off ramps to interstate 280. some bart and muni managers also affected. turned out to be nothing. police signaled the all clear about 6:30 last night. >> family members say shawn bauer and sarah showered were married this morning. josh few at all will be the best man. this is a photo taken in

warmer weather all the way from the coast to the inland valleys. it will take really today to get underway at our beaches. so still we are looking at a light west wind there with temperatures in the 60ths. but as we go through the overnight hours the winds in the higher elevations will continue to keep the air well-mixed and allow for a warmer start tomorrow and that spells out some very warm weather. enjoy it, if you like that. temperatures in the 70s today in southern california with upper 70s in fresno with 80s sacramento and 69 yosemite. we are talking low 9/11 #* -- 90s in palm springs. but here by 11:00 we will be in the 60s. if you are headed to the ballpark this afternoon, we will be in the mid-60s with numbers topping out around 70. 78 in concord.

heard from someone he thought was a former numi coworker. >> hey, von, i got this e-mail address we are entitled to a grant. i go really? >> his fake friends said the word of the grant came from the numi reemployment center. that was set up when the auto plant shut down two years ago. he e-mailed the contact. >> he said all i have to do is give him $1,500.00, wire it to caroline or something like that. >> that's when he did, to an address in north carolina. it would make him eligible to the $120,000 grant he was told. then he was told to wire more money, $2,155, which he did. he got suspicious when a cousin contacted him on facebook and started giving him wrong information. >> so i started asking him how is my uncle leo doing? he said he's doing fine. >> that's another mistake because he's dead. at that point he recognized he's victim of a scam. and there are others.

schoolers are joining facebook groups and others are assuming the identity of friends to dupe additional victims. the reemployment center has sent out warning e-mails to 1700 clients. >> of course, we are victims. they are using our name, representing our good name of the agency who has been assisting them the last couple years. certainly we feel the pain as well. >> the case is being handled by north carolina police. livermore police are putting out a warning. >> when you put something on the internet or exchange information you really don't know who you are talking to. it may be one of your friends, it may be somebody totally unknown to you who is collecting information to make you a victim of a crime. >> and how does ron webber feel about losing over $3,600? >> i don't feel bad at all. i really don't. it's just my identity and my friends and my family. especially when he hit my family, that's what really bothered me. >> we reached out to facebook for comment about this incident, but no one got back to us. ron webber worked for them for 20 years. while he said he's not bothered

losing $3,600, he still has not found a new job since they shut down few years ago. abc7 news. san francisco's sunday's streets programming is changing the way they do business. starting tomorrow it is going to take place in the mission, closing the streets to cars. it will be helithe first sunday every month for four months in the same location. the route is going to be along valencia and 24th streets. it includes live music, food, activities for kids. previously the event was held in a different part of the city every month, but officials say the goal is to examine how to create more open spaces and support small businesses in the city. you can drive vehicles like that one. that was crazy. >> that was cool. >> the program starts tomorrow. it will be a great weekend no matter which day you are talking about. >> that's right. and we are looking the gusty northwest wind. here's a look from the peak.

a b-25 flyover about 4:30. going to be followed by a jimmy doolittle tribute dinner at 5:00 p.m. you might want to take a moment to look at the moon tonight. as it passes closer to earth than usual. it will be a so-called super moon. the term for the biggest and brightest moon of the year. this is the picture of the moon over the area this morning. not quite super but looking good. it will pass about 1500 miles closer to earth than usual. that will make it appear bigger than usual, although it will be hard it see the difference for some. like any full moon, it will look bigger when it's hanging close to the horizon and that happens around sunset. thanks for the heads-up on the super moon. we will be able to see it? >> oh, yeah. >> no fog to speak of and with the wind shift, high pressure building in, it will be a beautiful day. warmer than what we've experienced in a while, and that trend will continue. a live look outside. boy, isn't that pretty? nice and clear out there.

the sun is up 6:01, setting at 8:04 and the full mhon occurring 8:35 tonight. so it is setting at 8:04 but it will still be kind of light out there and the moon kind of interesting. the super moon rising at 8:03 and it should be 8% closer so is looks larger and 16% brighter. pretty nice out there. you probably saw how big it looked the past couple of days. we are looking at a pretty nice start to the day although it's been cool on the coast. we dropped down into the upper 0s for a short time. 46 in oakland. 49 san francisco with 48 in fremont so already we are much colder this morning due to the lack of wind, the radiation natural cooling. but pretty soon the winds will take over and the wind shift allows for the warming trend to maintain the clear skies, the offshore winds,. warmer days right into next week.

it really doesn't look until wednesday we see a return to an onshore push. between now and then we look for nice witness conditions with clear conditions and the numbers peeking on monday. but still you aren't going to notice much of a change unless you are right at the coast on tuesday and even into wednesday we are holding on to the 80s in the inland valley. here's a look at the satellite radar composite. we had a pretty gusty couple days as low pressure closed the alignment from high to low pressure and with that low lifting on out we are looking at the northwesterly winds going away and the northeastly winds picking up. so starting out this morning with a lack of wind out there, but by the afternoon as the ridge builds into the north of us, we will look for lots of clear conditions and good visibility. in fact, the warming trend really getting underway tonight in the higher elevations as those winds really begin to gust. but we look for much warmer

weather, and the winds not too bad. you don't have to worry about those really dry conditions because it will be just below advisory criteria and about 1500 feet where we see the gustiest winds of the north and east bay hills so down at the surface just pretty mild out there throughout the evening hours. 78 fresno, 70 big sur with 69 yosemite. this afternoon downtown san francisco right at the ballpark you are looking at mid-60s to around 70 by later on in the afternoon. lots of sunshine. we will be looking at temperatures here above normal all across the bay with 78 in concord, livermore, antioch. 75 fremont and hayward today with 76 and 73 in watsonville with 74 santa cruz. the look ahead we are talking bat five or six degrees of warming tomorrow. the warmest day out of the next seven should be monday. a little sea breeze on tuesday and you will notice the fog
