center divide northbound traffic well out of sunnyvale overturn crash southbound 280 past highway 92 in san mateo because of an a deer. a couple more accidents i'll give you details on in a little bit. the bay bridge toll just minor back-up for some of the cash paying lanes. 6:02. we begin with developing news. oakland police are looking for the shooter in a violent home invasion robbery that left one wounded. they are trying to decide if it is linked to another street robbery that occurred a few minutes earlier. katie marzullo is live at oakland police department. >> reporter: both of those crimes happening early this morning a little after midnight. oakland police department investigating considering the fact they might be related. after 12:30 holly and 95 inn, a man was shot during what might have been a home invasion robbery. 15 minutes earlier, someone

was robbed at 75th and macarthur. no reports of anyone being hurt in that second incident. that was not the case at the house on holly street. >> two individuals appeared to have robbed a -- [ inaudible ] >> reporter: neighbors say that there are drugs that the house, police on the scene could not confirm that. we know that two suspects involved with the incident are on the lose. no word if any arrests have -- on the loose. no word if anyone arrests have been made two weeks ago three people were shot three blocks over at holly and 98th. one of those victims happened to be a guy who was diving by. all three survived. -- was driving by. all three survived. katie marzullo, abc7 news. san francisco police investigating deadly

pedestrian accident on one of the city's busiest streets, investigators say a woman crossing the street was hit by a small truck. police believe the unidentified woman described as being in her 20s was crossing the street outside of a crosswalk. the driver stopped and remained at the scene. police have not cited the driver. bay area pilot has a tale to tell after an emergency forced him to touch down in the bay. it happened yesterday the pilot was unable to extend the nose gear while trying to land at the palo alto airport. fortunately for him he an amphibious plane he splashed down near embarcadero road. investigators say there were no injuries. this morning san francisco firefighters will comb through the scene of a massive apartment fire that left 37 people homeless in hopes of determining a cause. the fast moving blaze was captured by several witnesses

on their cell phone cameras. it gutted an apartment building on dubose and valencia in the mission district. investigators think it started behind a liquor store but don't know what sparked it. five firefighters and one tenant suffered minor injuries. word this morning that the family of former nfl star junior seau is having second thoughts about allowing his blaine to be examined for possible injuries from his football career. the family of samoan decent was considering donating his brain to -- descent was considering donating his brain to science. the 43-year-old shot himself at his home in san diego county last week. yesterday hundreds paddled out on surf boards near seau's house to give him a final good-bye. friends say he was an avid surfer. among those who attended quarterback drew brees. >> junior had affect on everyone that he came in contact with. such a positive way

seau played 13 seasons with the san diego chargers. researchers want to study his brain to determine if he suffered from a neurodegenerative disease with links to repeated hits to the head. this morning president obama's reelection campaign is denying that vice president biden is breaking ranks with the administration over gay marriage in a tv interview over the weekend biden said he believes marriage should be about being loyal to someone you love whether that marriage is between a man and a woman, two men or two women. >> i am absolutely comfortable with the fact that men marrying men, women marrying women and heterosexual men and women, are entitled to the same exact rights. >> many took biden's remarks to be an endorsement of same-sex marriage. president obama has advocated for same-sex benefits but believes marriage should be between a man and woman. ed by 's office insists he was reiterating his belief that

oracle vs. google. this morning we expect to know the winner. federal jury in san francisco is set to deliver pair shall ruling in a copyright intrainingment trial. the jury appears to have decided on three of four issues in oracle's claim that google violated oracle's patents when it wrote its own version of java the ruling could have widespread implications for coding standards relating to cloud come putting. >> -- cloud computing. walnut creek leaders urging george lucas to build his new studio in their

community. some neighbors complained it would harm the environment in san rafael. walnut creek's city manage pitching a 240 acre bismarck as a good alternative. the shade lands business park has two million -- thousands of young muni riders may find out this week if they will be allowed to ride the buses and street cars free. the commission is scheduled to discuss the program wednesday. last month san francisco muni official as proved a proposal to provide free muni for low income youths. it is up to the transportation body to decide whether to allocate five million dollars to fund the program. let's see if it is jacket or shorts weather.

and there's a new one reported northbound 280 in the millbrae avenue off-ramp, already off to the shoulder, the other freeway accidents are on shoulder, there shouldn't be much slowing due to those accidents on the freeway. westbound 80 getting crowded near university, but the drive time still 20 minutes from the carquinez bridge to the maze. at the bay bridge toll, once the fast track lanes start backing up, metering lights turned on, backed up beyond the end of the parking lot to the west grand avenue overcrossing. north bay commute, so far, so good, cars head southbound here out of novato it is fine down to 580 or to the golden gate bridge. the slow spots this morning are actually the usual suspects, westbound 4 out of antioch, hillcrest to 242, 21 minutes as you head out of tracy, 580 westbound from the altamont pass to 680, that's a 22 minute right ride. coming up, the -- royal

livelihood look at the liquor store boarded up now won't be open for a while. firefighters will be focusing on that liquor store today, they think it started behind the store. they don't know how it started. they won't lack for video to review. we've got many samples taken by witnesses many of them used cell phones. a lot of people documented this fire here at dubose and valencia. it started 10:00 yesterday morning it took fire as hour and a half to get it contained. the heat was so intense passers-by were told to stay back. we start screaming so my mom live in unit 6 and my sister, i carry my mom down, i carry her and i save my mom. >> flames were pouring in through our kitchen windows, i ran out and grabbed what i could. >> reporter: the cafe next door had to clear out many people were running from their homes, quite a dramatic scene.

five firefighters were hurt. all ever expected to be okay. three were hurt when a stairwell collapsed. let's take a live picture at the blackened building, now that the sun is coming up you can see how black it is, a lot of people commented on heavy smoke. 37 people were displaced from those homes above the liquor store, seven are children, many now will have to start sorting through their homes today in the hopes of trying to recover anything from their lives. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. 6:33. this morning an east bay father and his soon are being called heroes after rescuing two beam from a burning home in alamo. the fire broke out before 6:00 last night. the fires arrived to find the home engulfed in flames. neighbors ran into the house and pulled a man to state, then braved the flames and went back in after his 96-year-old mother.

>> i picked her up and carried her out. she was kind of hurt, she is old and kind of crippled. i wasn't too gentle, i picked her up as best i could to get her out trying to get her through the trees and bushes to our house and over another fence -- [ inaudible ] fire started from embers left from an earlier fire in the fireplace. oakland police say fingerprint from today's autopsy should confirm the identity of a man shot and killed by an officer over the weekend. it may reveal whether the man fired his gun at the officer. officer was shot in the leg early yesterday morning and is expected to be released from the hospital in day or two oakland police say it is possible he shot himself while drawing his weapon. the situation began on international boulevard when two officers tried to question three men, one ran and was

chased by the officer. a witness says the suspect fired at the officer who returned fire. the suspect died at the hospital. >> i heard the shots, i shut my windows, i get afraid somebody will run into my house. this is oakland's 43rd homicide of the year. a councilman has expressed concerns that the violence will escalate as the summer heat sets in. right now san jose police investigating a shooting involving a police officer near south king and story roads officers say 8:30 last night they spotted an suv wanted in connection with what they call a weapons-related incident the driver sped way a few minutes later the police located the suv in a residential neighborhood as police were searching an officer fired at one suspect, nobody was hit, the suspect surrendered. uc berkeley officials weighing options after a group of occupy protesters ignored
