teachers at san francisco unified plan to announce results of strike authorization vote this afternoon. they cast ballots yesterday. they are facing salary and benefit cuts over the next two years. their union contract expires at the end of next month. negotiations for a new agreement have stalled and officials are planning to issue 218 layoff notices by next weeks mandated deadline. some believe the world will end on december 21. a newly discovered ancient calendar says it's not the case. oldest known version of the mayan calendar deep in the guatemala rain forest and it goes way beyond 2012. they painted a much different picture discovered in ancient
