murder suspect shot at police crime scene tape marks the apartment and threw a window you can see evidence of how dennis hughes barricaded the door. the standoff began when police tracked hughes to his girlfriend's house his mother's body discovered in santa rosa. there are holes in walls and ceilings of neighboring apartments. josha hall living down stairs says he didn't know what to make of the couple. >> and they didn't know what to think. and that is the objection here. i just assumed they're up late. and noisy people oo. and hughes was killed by police during this incident. his girlfriend was at the apartment briefly. the apartment is still a crime scene. >> this afternoon, there is a chicago jury convicted of murdering oscar winner jennifer hudson's family
