at a 10.6 billion dollar ipo friday. get this, new associate -- new associated poll out today sheds light on if people think the company is worth it. 50% of people surveyed think the price of the ipo is too high. 50% think facebook is a good bet. at the same time, 51% of young consult -- adults predict facebook's appeal will fade down the road. time will tell, 28-year-old founder mark zuckerberg will still be a billionaire one way or the other. he is scheduled to ring the opening bell from menlo park friday, not new york. following in the trend of other silicon valley companies. facebook's ipo is being called the biggest since google. in 2004 google sold fewer than

20 million shares at $85 a piece facebook is selling 300 million shares, again for the $35 to $38 price we still have to look into that. when this is all over, facebook as a company value is expected to be 100 billion dollars. >> zuckerberg's birthday present to self could be bigger than the eight -- 18 billion. >> that will buy a couple of hoodies for him. san francisco may be ready to give twitter a new perk. muni officials will consider a new route to twitter's headquarters on market street during commute hours on weekdays from caltrain at 4th and townsend to market between 8th and 9th. muni says the cost would be offset by running it with other existing lines. twitter got a big tax break to keep from it leaving 1,000 employees will be moving to

challenge, four mile race to the top of the sierra summit benefiting 250 schools in the silicon valley and their anti-obesity programs. going to have a charity race at 8:15. at 11:15 stage three of the amgen tour of california. terry mcsweeney, abc7 news. alameda county deputies investigating what appears to be castro valley's first homicide of the year. investigators have a section of omega avenue cordoned off near center street after a body was discovered in a home. they have not released any details on the victim or the circumstances surrounding the discovery. they tell us they will be there for quite sometime. amy hollyfield is at the scene and she going to bring us more on this story in a live report coming up. 5:06. a court hearing scheduled for later today over a key piece of evidence in the ethics battle against sheriff ross

mirkarimi. at issue whether video of his wife can be used in a hearing on misconduct charges against the sheriff. the video taken by a neighbor shows his wife talking the incident showing a bruise on her arm. the city wants to use the video as evidence in an effort to remove mirkarimi from his position. san jose council plans to review proposal for social host ordinance when it meets today making parents more liable when they are aware that underaged drinking is happening on their property, prohibiting underaged gathering for four or more at a residence or other private property where alcoholic beverages are consumed by one or more or if they are under the influence the person responsible the owner or renter or person who organizes or allows the gathering. lafayette's city council put off a vote to make sure massage parlors follow state and local laws.

good morning everybody 5:30 a.m. thank you for the company i'm eric thomas. and i'm kristen sze alameda county investigators at a castro valley home where a body was discovered last night. they say this is likely the community's first homicide of the year. amy hollyfield is live at the neighborhood on omega avenue and center street. >> reporter: this is still a very active scene. we have seen police cars coming and going in the last few minutes they are heating -- they are meeting in the middle of the block never a huge crime tech van out here, several investigators working this scene. residents on omega avenue --

police have taken over the street. officials tell us their investigation was happening elsewhere and it brought them here to omega avenue. it started around 6:00 last night. they found a dead body inside a home. they say they've been working on the investigation before they got to this point but they won't tell us what they were doing or what they were looking into when they found the body here. they are being tight-lipped they wouldn't tell us the gender or age of the victim. they tell us they have a lot to sort through. they will not be getting out of here any time soon. it looks like they have a very large investigation here, big, big scene and thorough job they have to do here this morning. they tell us no arrests have been made. amy hollyfield, abc7 news. 5:31. a 69-year-old south bay doctor faces more than 23 felony

charges of operating a so-called pill mill selling prescription painkillers to addicts. the doctor is a pain management specialist with an office in loss guy toys her website says she evaluates and treats pain disorders. the santa clara d.a.'s office launched an investigation after a patient overdosed and died. undercover officers say they bought pain killers in her parking lot without examination. police arrested her friday on a one million dollar warrant. >> there were numerous people that were getting over prescribed for reasons that were not medically necessary. >> prosecutors claim the doctor would over prescribe pain killers to addicts charging them $100 a the an addicts would abuse the drugs, resell them or both. occupiers evicted from uc farmland in albany vow to return. 15 marched from albany to the berkeley campus around 9:30

last night. police went to protect the chancellor's residence. the march never made it there many are still upset over their eviction from the property. arrest of nine protesters yesterday morning. cal officials told the occupiers they could continue tending their crops as long as they didn't camp there. they say the occupiers turned them down. state lawmakers will begin reviewing the governor's plan. governor brown says state is facing a deficit of almost 16 billion dollars. he's calling for a temporary tax increase along with deep cuts, including a 5% decrease for state employees. schools stand to get a 16% boost in spending if voters pass the tax initiative. >> hercules council called a closed session meeting tonight, problems with the finances. audit shows more than two million dollars in grants and

transportation funds from 2009 to 2010 are unaccounted for. city officials say they are trying to get back on track after the former manager left the accounts in shambles. the controller says it is the worst set of records he's seen. today san jose leaders set to impose a cap on businesses that make payday loans. the council is expected to pass an ordinance that limits the number to 38, that's the number already doing business in san jose. it would prevent future stores from opening in or near low income neighborhoods. payday loans offer a quick $300 in -- -- in exchange for a postdated check. it amounts to an annual percentage rate of $460%. opponents say limiting the payday loans will hurt people who need them. richmond city council could take a step closer to taxing sodas and other sugar sweetened drinks.

tool in the search for missing sierra lamar in hopes of finding clues to the whereabouts of the 15-year-old who vanished after leaving her home on march 16th. the latest move after divers searched the reservoir in the area near lamar's home with another type of side scan sonar. this new sonar allows them to see sunken objects in greater detail. san bruno celebrating the first of welcome home milestones. homes that burned to the ground in an hour are now slowly rising back up in the crest more neighborhood. last night city leaders honored the first wave some have the same floorplan. most don't want to go back and have chosen to build different homes. one family chose to expand by more than 1,000 square feet. they know they will never forget that terrible september day but they say this marks an important new milestone.
