down around half moon bay. not a lot of moderating in temperatures there at the beaches. they will be typically cool in the upper 50s. with the cloudiness we will allow for numbers to slowly warm with afternoon highs still coming in below average, though, in the mid-70s, upper 70s, and we would be around average but we are going to delay the warming trend until the middle of the week, wednesday and thursday, as a stronger ridge of high pressure builds in and that's when we will see numbers in the upper 80s to maybe some 90s. here's a look at the rest of the afternoon. i talked about the cloud deck here. so, of course, upper 50s where the clouds are. 60s in the city and widespread 70s for the north bay and south bay. you really have to go far out into the sacramento valley for the 80s. even then few and far between. now much of the east coast looking at 80s, 81 in new york, upper 80s dc. but take a look at the midwest, 96 in chicago with minneapolis 92.
5:20 am
mid-90s in st. louis. you get west of the mississippi, yeah, what a cool down. so we have a couple more days of our warmup to anticipate because between now and then we still will be under the influence of another trough to the north and west of us. so we do have high pressure building on in for tomorrow, today and tomorrow, and that is bringing a modest warmup, anywhere from five to seven degrees. so it will be slow and we will look for more 60s and 70s, but across the state as you head further east you will notice a couple of 80s here and there from fresno and sacramento. the rain has moved out of the sierra nevada, so the 40s translating into upper 50s in the lake tahoe area. still calling tore partly cloudy and breezy conditions throughout the day today and by the evening hours we will continue to see the numbers drop. so if you are headed out to the golden gate bridge of course you have to dress with a down coat with layers, temperatures here today, very similar around the bay and at our coast the warmup
