did you walk the bridge? >> i sure did. >> caltrans says work on the dumbarton bridge is on schedule and the bridge should re-open as expected in time for commuters on tuesday morning. crews spent the weekend installing a new expansion joint on the western part of the bridge's main span. that joint will help the bridge bend but not break during a major earthquake. >> this is a very complicated joint that they're putting in. a complex system that locks down on the east end of the bridge and allows the bridge to expand and contract on the west side. >> alan: this weekend's work will play major role in the seismic retrofit of the entire bridge. caltrans started the $60 million project two years ago and hopes to finish sometime next year. the current main span of the dumbarton bridge opened 30 years ago. >> san jose police are reporting the city's 16th homicide of the year. a teenager. police received several calls of a shooting in the 1600 block of

the golden gate. the low clouds spread inland overnight tonight. and at least for the next couple of days high pressure is going to build in and temperatures will keep below normal this time of year, until mid-week, and that's when temperatures are going to start to warm up. that's close to 90 degrees inland. this is how we started off this morning. dense overcast. really in through the bay. and then watch. it just kind of just melts away throughout the afternoon. we still have this band of low cloudiness, and this is going to move in here around 8:30, 9:00. this is our forecast. fog cavity model. and you can see around 9:00. much of the low cloudiness is off the coast. so this is our nice window of opportunity to get those fireworks displays going. and some of that fog will meander near the coast overnight, move further inland by tomorrow morning. this is 6:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, and then eveilly burn
