70s. and 52 in san francisco. that west wind blowing at 33 miles an hour by the delta, indicating that cooler air being transported from the coast to our inland valleys today. so no more 90s today. we are looking at some mid-and upper 80s in our warmest locations, and this fog will stay put along the san mateo coast along into the east bay for the morning hours, but more sunshine is on the way and your full forecast a little bit later. terry. >> lisa, thanks a lot. a swim coach at san mateo high school now faces felony sex charges for alleged contact with a female student. 25-year-old joshua david tetra was booked into the san mateo county jail yesterday. jailers say he faces four counts, including sexual assault on a minor and lewd acts with a minor. his bail is set at $25,000. he's been a swim and water polo coach at arragon during the past

year. the investigation was two and a half weeks before making the arrest off-campus. a victim staggered into a liquor store near ban craft last night with a bullet wound. there were shell casings here by. nobody was arrested. no suspects in the shoot being. today the father of a three-year-old boy shot and killed last august in oakland is leading a community effort to stop future violence. he wants people to turn in their guns at today's all-day community resource fair. oakland residents can turn in unloaded guns and receive assistance. the first 100 people turning in guns and showing proof they live in oakland will receive a $100 gift certificate for a target or grocery store. today will be a somber day for san francisco firefighters as they honor two firefighters

killed in the line of duty exactly one year ago. ltd. vincent perez and firefighter anthony volario both sides one year ago today. chief joanne hayes white mr. preside over a public memorial this morning at station 26. that's on digby streets just blocks from the fire and that's where both men worked. the ceremony includes a moment of silence at 10:58:00 a.m.. today volunteers will conduct a saturday search for missing teen ager sierra lamar. there was a nature and hope rally held last night at washington school in fremont which she attended before moving to morgan hill in the fall. about 200 friends and family gathered here at the high school. this is where she attended school before moving to morgan hill. this is called a faith and hope

rally because it seems no one here, especially her father, has lost faith that sierra may still be alive and will some day be found. >> our focus is to find sierra. we around giving up. we don't have anything to tell us otherwise. >> the placard is still being waved and money is still being collect today fund a continued volunteer search for sierra, missing since leaving for school in morgan hill on march 16th. the organizer said she's glad police arrested a man in connection with the possible murder but said the search has to continue. >> i'm grateful they found him but she's out there. we don't have a body. there's no closer. we don't have anything. so we still believe she's out there. >> many of those who came to the rally were teenagers their parents. >> i see her pictures and it reminds me of my daughter. >> her daughter is 16 and says she has a resemblance to sierra. she said sierra's disappearance

a gun. san mateo police arrested man that handed a note to bank officials. officers surrounded the bran and took the same precautions they do when they receive a report as an actual bank robbery. they identified the man as a transyen. a 34-year-old blackman was arrested who disguised himself as a white man to rob several banks. >> the 34-year-old manformer felon who lived in oakland. he is charge with robbing banks in 11 different cities both with and without a gun with a movie quality industry mask. he's held on 1.$3 million gail. next wednesday the preliminary hearing in the brian stow beating case is expected to wrap newspaper los angeles. yesterday stow's friend who was with him when it happened took

mile right here half moon bay. 52 degrees and still the warmth is around antioch but that soon will be tempered with the low clouds and fog transporting the marine air. not so much the fog that far east burks at least the delta flow. so we will be locking at fog along the coast and bay this morning. there is a little bit as you head over the golden gate bridge. a cooling trend. temperatures hold steady today and tomorrow and then a big cool down on monday and tuesday. the possibility of showers in the north bay. so this is a pretty strong storm for this time of year. we are looking at the fog and low clouds to do its thing clear back to the coast today with 60s there. not bad, fairly typical, but the cool down around the bay with the morris widespread 70s from the north bay to the santa clara valley and the 60s toward concord and livermore. a nice afternoon, although as much as 10 degrees cooler in some spots. then we will be looking at

another 10 degrees being shaved off these highs by the beginning of the work week. so it's all because of an unseasonably strong system up to the north and west of us. it will sort of stall out here today. he dig a little deeper and get closer to tomorrow and by tomorrow night it's kind of cued up to the north and west of us and that will set the stanley for our big, big cool down. we have the big ridge of high pressure still holding on this parts of the state, and especially well to our east. that continues to slide on off to the east, and as it does, this low will slide down. and with it just a little bit of moisture. it doesn't look like much of it will head as far south as the golden gate bridge but the cool air all the way through the bay area and we will be looking at temperatures well below normal not only monday and tuesday burke when we do recover wednesday, thursday and friday, temperatures will be below average. so high temperatures today still some 90s, sacramento,

san joaquin valley, op's along the coast with numbers in the low 60s in los angeles. and numbers in san francisco sunshine, 68 today. that's at about 3:00. for the giants game temperatures will be dropping through the 60s with the wind picking up later on. mid-70s for fremont and palo alto. a couple mid-80s up toward sant% rosa and about 80 in san jose. 60s at our coast. we will see some sunshine there. but temperatures will come downed to all around the bay. still warm in our 80s inland but take a look at the trend. we have really dropped the numbers monday and tuesday. it will be breezy and then we will look at just a modest recovery wednesday, thursday and friday. what a bumper. i mean, it's feeling like summer. >> and we were reminiscing, a year ago right about now the heavy rains, the record june rains. >> that's right. we don't have that in store. looks like some very light, spotty showers, areas of the

cuts. at san francisco international airport you can expect delays this weekend. not weather, sfo has chosed one of its primary runways for scheduled maintenance. that's expected to cut in half the number of planes that can land at any one period of time. it will allow crews to modify the lights and seenage on the runway. the project should be completed by 8:00 monday morning. speaking of the airport, what's called san francisco international airport, it's actually in san mateo county and now the cash-strapped supervisors of that county want to tax the airport to balance their budget. jonathan bloom explains. >> san mateo county gets the noise, the exhaust, and the traffic from san francisco's airport while san francisco gets most of the tax money. >> san francisco has an atm of sorts at the airport in which they draw money from. they take out large bills and we just want some change. >> the supervisors are pushing three ballot measures that would tax the hotel, parking lot and

car rentals around the airport as a way to close the county's budget shortfall. >> if it does not pass it blows a $13 million hole in our budget and we will be force today cut programs for people who are the middle east needy in our county and we will be force today make cuts in public safety. >> similar measures pharaohly lost three years ago. this time they mounted a campaign saying new taxes are their only option. >> we've cut, done everything we can to cut and at the same time we have to do some revenue enhance meant. >> a budget of only $60,000. supporters of the measures take he are being outspent 6 to 1, including by rental car companies. >> the rent tal car company could hurt the whole tourism industry. >> higher tacks means higher prices. when the prices increase for tourism-related products, travelers go to different destinations. >> they commission add study that shows sfo would have the second highest rental car tax in

>> with this $8 million payment ends 21 years of receiver ship. it means the west contra costa school district will have an extra $1.4 million a year that would otherwise have gone to repay the lone. >> what will that will do is help us make not make cutbacks we otherwise would have made. a number of teachers will have jobs as a result of that that would have been laid off otherwise. >> here's how the district got in trouble in the first place more than two decades ago when it was called the richmond unified school district. >> we did not budget properly. we had more obligations than we could afford and the state cut revenue. >> the financial situation was so bad the entire district and its schools planned to close and to declare bankruptcy. that's what parents, led by tom butt, sued california. >> we prevailed, and the state was ordered to open the schools back up and complete the school year. >> california had to lend the district $29 million. but the interest rate on the lone was so high, 5.7%, the

the north bay on monday. we aren't talking about any downpours, just hit-or-miss showers with windy conditions for everyone. and much cooler temperatures. so as we take a look at our pacific satellite picture you notice the counter clockwise rotation with the cold front getting set up to the north and west of us and this sets the stage for the cooler air. it's going to get hung up here and stay stationary for the weekend. so we have a couple things going on. we've got that warm are ridge of high pressure that brought the 90s, the above normal temperatures. that beginnings to move on off to the east. and this cold front just stays there for today. and then by tomorrow it begins to sag south, and by sunday night the cooler air heads our way. taller marine layer and the mist and drizzle. the moisture, perhaps, and then maybe a few showers. temperatures today still warm. we had records at reno and tahoe. 80s and 09 -- 90s yesterday
