>> ama: developing news. fire threatening the peninsula. high winds and tough terrain have made it difficult for crews on the scenes of two separate fires. >> alan: we're getting word a brush fire in the hills above brisbane has just been contained after a battle that lasted more than three hours and forced the closure over the bay shore offramp from 101, and a second fire destroyed a home on highway 35, but has been contained. the firefighters had trouble pumping water out of a hydrant. john is live from n brisbane. >> the road is still closed.

wind has been a major factor here all day. it is still blowing but the fire now 100% contained, and crews will probably be baby-sitting the situation for the next few hours. behind me, there's some pg&e crews that have been working in the powerlines along bay shore boulevard. they may have been a factor in the cause of the fire. may have been. it broke out at 1:30 this afternoon in this area along bay shore boulevard. there were powerlines done but it's unknown if the winds caused the lines to drop and start the fire. the flames threatened homes but no evacuations. it burned about seven acres and knocked out power to 500 people. that's up from 1400 people earlier and the city and pg&e are trying to figure out what is behind that. some transformers blew but there were no injuries. >> we have crews in and around

the areas of the home that are being protected and there's no damage to homes. any evac san diego. >> no evacuations or shelter in places at this wept. >> two tankers and a helicopter made several drops of fire retardant. this is very clear to -- close to the flight path of sfo. 70 firefighters were here. and bay shore boulevard, the northbound 101 offramp, still remains closed because bay shore boulevard is blocked by fire crews. coming back live, you can see where the pg&e crews are back on the powerline. where lines came down, it's unclear it that was caused by the wind. that's being investigated. >> ama: san francisco

firefighters honored two of their own who died in the line of duty during a fire that started two years ago today. vincent perez and anthony valero died. firefighters held a public memorial at station 26, just blocks from the fire and where both men worked. fire fly balls blame the men's death on a flashover, a result of a shattered window. >> one of the members from the team went home. had a training mask issue. we saved the life of another firefighter before he went to that call. the other firefighter that stayed home, he feels my brother saved his life as well. so my brother went in with three firefighters, sent the fourth guy home. >> big boys in the family. but we have to go forward. keep on going. >> plagues in honor of perez and valero were dedicated, as was a

memorial garden paid for by local businesses. >> pablo sandoval is being investigate for a possible sexual assault in santa cruz. we're told the alleged ems dent happened friday morning. his attorney says the world series champ met with officers at the sheriff's department voluntarily. he says this is related to a consentual sexual relationship and his client is cooperating fully. he is a fav with riff the fans, known as the panda. last winter he signed a three-year contract worth more than $17 million. >> ama: membersment -- commencement ceremonies are underway at oikos university two months to the day after the shooting rampage. it is wise an emotional time for the graduates students. on april 2nd, six schools and a teacher died. a former student has been

powerful dictator. former egyptian president hosni mubarak will spend the rest of his life in prison. it's a verdict much harsher than many expected. >> reporter: after 289 29 years of dictatorship, finally egypt's fallen president was held into account. wheeled into the courtroom and locked in a candle as the verdict was read. his two sons watched nervously. mubarak was found guilty by association for failing to stop the murder of unarmed protesters during the uprising that ultimately overthrew him. almost 1,000 people died in the uprising. when the verdict, life in prison, was announced, the crowd outside the courtroom erupt. some june leapt, some angry he
