a distraction in the san francisco giants clubhouse. pablo sandoval is being investigated for possible sexual assault. good evening. >> they say the 25-year-old world series champ voluntarily spoke with deputies early friday morning. tomas ramon is live at at&t park with more on that. >> reporter: pablo sandoval hasn't played a game with san francisco giants since may 2nd because of a writes injury and some surgery. he was tentatively scheduled to come back to the giants on this friday but it could ride on these allegations of sexual

assault. >> pablo sandoval is facing a strike that could independent his career. he played in stockton had a short reply for the charge. >> i know you are going to ask about that. it's in process going on so i can't talk about it. >> reporter: santa cruz county sheriff's department says a woman reported the assault friday morning. >> she stated that pablo sandoval was the alleged suspect that he was still a at resort where the alleged crime happened. >> it's in aptos near santa cruz where deputies questioned sandoval. >> he was not detained and not arrested and actually cooperated with us and came down to the sheriff's department and interviewed with him with attorneys present. >> they would not discuss the

allegations. he released this statement. he voluntarily met with the santa cruz county sheriff's department related to consensual relationship of a sexual nature that day. we have no hurt in furt comment fit. the deputy says the reporting victim and sandoval met thursday night. >> thursday night a small group of people met in a downtown business, downtown santa cruz, that small group of people left and went to a resort in aptos. >> where it was reported at 4:25 friday morning. management said the alleged said he was not a guest there. the third baseman has not played a game since may 2nd due to a writes injury. he has been playing with the san jose giants while rekrootd coupe rating. the sheriff's are taking the allegations seriously.

street. it was first reported this evening. fire has been contained to the attic, smoke and glow from the fire could be seen from emeryville. high winds made it hard to control two price for on the peninsula today. a brush fire burned about seven acres in the hills above brisbane, three-alarm fire destroyed a home in woodside. it threatened to spread after flames begin burning in trees and started to head toward other homes. 70 firefighters brought a brush fire in the hills of brisbane under control. at one point about 1500 homes lost power because of the fire. wind whipped up the flames that threatened homes and scorched seven acres. >> if the wind had changed direction we were concerned that the fire might extend to areas structures in the city of

brisbane, flish to that there was delay and we was trying to get to some of the areas of the fire because the power lines were down. >> investigators suspect the wind brought down power lines set on off the fire. bayshore boulevard off-ramp was closed during the fire, but there were no evacuations and no injuries. >> coming up at 11:30, growing concerns that it could be a tough fire season ahead and the equipment shortage that could prove to be a disaster. one man is dead tonight and eight others injured after a gunman opened fire in canada's shopping mall. he started shooting inside the food court in toronto. many of the injured in a hurt of stampede of shoppers racing to the exit. in the confusion the suspect got away. >> the suspect right now, we have one confirmed one and we have to look at the cameras. as you can appreciate --

>> 25-year-old man died at the scene, two people are in critical condition and pregnant woman went into labor at the mall. in stockton they are looking for two men who shot and killed a jewelry vendor in front of his wife and children. it happened this morning at eldorado flea market. witnesses say the 74-year-old vendor was a&m bushed by the masked suspect who then fled in a dead man's car. police say the suspect arrived there in a stolen van which they are checking for fingerprints. >> civic center is the stage for the black and white ball tonight. thousands put on their best for the event put on by the san francisco symphony. sergio quintana, how is the party going right now? >> i think there are party goers that were fooled by the sunny skies because there are plenty of people dressed up in beautiful gowns and tuxes but

fighting a houses fire. they held a public memorial at station 26 blocks from the fire where both men worked. fire officials blame the deaths on a flashover a sudden flare-up of heat after a window shattered. >> one of the members but we saved the life of other firefighters. fourth firefighter feel that he was saved, as well. >> it left a big void in the family. you have to go forward to keep on going. >> a memorial garden and plaques were dedicated at the station. and a memorial occurred in determination was on display in can at the graduation ceremony for oikos university. it was on edge water drive.

some of the graduates survived the massacre in april when seven people were shot to death and three more wounded by a man. he is awaiting trial on seven counts of murder. >> man who killed trmz has hours to turn himself in after they heard recording between george zimmerman and his wife over how much money theyed. zimmerman launched a website with a paypal link for defense fund. he collected about $200,000. his defense team told the court he was broke. >> this is family of very short means. >> the defendants lied to this court. she stated she had no money which in fact the record shows she did. >> the prosecutor said they hid the money. they say he had as much as $135,000 in bank. >> the life sentence given to

readings. 68 degrees in antioch. still holding some of the heat today. 50 in san francisco. santa rosa is at 55. clear skies in mountain view and 59 in san jose. highlights take knew middle of next week, low clouds overnight, cooler and breezy day for our sunday but we will enjoy a sunny sunday afternoon tomorrow and get ready for big changes as we head into monday, cool and windy with a chance of some showers. here is a look at lows. fog already starting to fill in near the coast. look for generally mid to low 50s across much of the bay area with antioch, brentwood and identically a little warmer with temperatures there mid to upper 50s. now, here is a look at close-up satellite. you get a sense of the clouds gathering to the north of us. this is in association of the weather system that we're going to keep a close eye on. very strong system for this time

of year. the low pressure and a pretty tightly wound cold front. this is what can bring showers here on monday. for tomorrow the ridge of high pressure that has been bringing us the warm to hot temperatures the past several days has started to weaken moving off to the east. we'll look for high clouds to increase tomorrow in advance of this cold front. wind will be with us, as well. then as we get into sunday night and monday. that is when the cooler parcel of air will sink across the bay area. the tail end of this cold front is going to move across the bay area and that may be able to wring out a few showers. let me advance this to 4:00, towards pga a.m. commute hour. you can see most of heaviest rain stays north but starting to move in to sonoma and also marn county. this is 5:00 a.m. monday morning.

on the way there is renewed concern about a searous shortage of air tankers that are critical for fighting a blaze from above. >> critics worry the tanker fleet is shrinking. they had 44 large air tank others call, today only 11 and they are getting older. in 2002 the n.t.s.b. found stress cracks in the wings of this tanker that broke apart in california. three people on board were killed. >> some of these planes that are getting to the point where they belong to museums rather than be in the sky. >> the agency admits it doesn't have enough tankers but insists it's working to modernize the fleet. >> we are ready and prepared to deal with the coming fire season. >> new mexico's fire fight could lasts for weeks. >> a lot could depend on the weather. >> but there are no rain clouds forecasted until the end of july.
