good monday morning. 4:30 a.m. thanks for joining us, i'm eric thomas. even i'm kristen sze. there is june rain. mike is here to look at how that will affect you. it won't be heavy today, but we have some out there live doppler quiet. there are small patches of drizzle near the coast and higher elevations in the north bay. king road, even out towards sweetwater spring road, very light up to cloverdale down 101. the worst of the wet weather not here yet meaning it could mess up the morning commute. just getting close to the northwest corner of sonoma county more to the north going to rotate towards us. our best chance for showers mid-morning to mid-afternoon. until then, watch out for the drizzle the next couple of hours. good morning.

so far, so good. especially if you ride miguel diaz de la portilla we talked with muni officials the -- we talked with mimi officials the n doodah line back on track. -- we have a new ferry this morning from oakland alameda, san francisco, south san francisco and oyster point those ferries beginning 6:35 this morning are free for this week. we have a stall on the richmond san rafael bridge. developing news from san francisco. police are investigating a shooting that has left one person in critical condition. police tell abc7 news the shooting happened 2:15 this morning in the bayview district. the victim was shot and taken to the hospital no word on a motive. officers are still investigating.

firefighters are watching for flare-ups from a grass fire in pittsburg it broke out around 7:30 last night. when firefighters got there the flames bunked a quarter of an acre. by the time the fire was knocked down flames had spread over 25 acres. no injuries. major transit news this morning. bay area has a new ferry option with the first ever regular service between the east bay and south san francisco. amy hollyfield is live at the alameda ferry terminal. there is a great incentive to try it. >> reporter: that's right. usually it is going to cost $7 for a one-way ticket. it is going to be free all this week. their way of trying to entice you to come and try this and see if you like it. here's a look at the new the first new ferry added to the bay area since 1992. it will be a 40 minute trip connecting the east bay to the peninsula.

lines are set to return to full service n judah and j church line are set to start running 25 minutes from now. buses have been in use. we'll get a live progress report from katie marzullo in the next half hour. in a few hours a judge is due to sentence edwin ramos for the 2008 murders of a father and two of his sons. he faces a maximum sentence of life without parole. a jury convicted ramos of three counts of first degree murder for the shooting deaths of 48-year-old anthony bologna, his 20-year-old son and 16-year-old son. prosecutors called it a re shooting sake ramos mistakenly thought they were rival gang members. ramos admitted driving the car but says another man fired the gun.

giants' slugger pablo sandoval's return may hinge on charges. a woman claims he assaulted her early friday morning as -- south of santa cruz. she met sandoval earlier in downtown santa cruz. he was seen leaving the bar and restaurantír after one in the morning with two men a manager says he did not see women leaving with them. his attorney says the sexual encounter was consensual with >> this type of case is usually anything but rock solid. it depends on credibility of witnesses. whose credibility, believe ability, ability to remember is put in question, because of the context in which this kind of crime occurs. >> sheriffs have interviewed sandoval they say he's been cooperative. election officials are

suspended san francisco sheriff ross mirkarimi may not have been calling his campaign manager during a police domestic violence investigation against him but the two texted at least five times. the chronicle reports the contents of the texts between mirkarimi and campaign manager are not known. they were turned over to members of mayor lee's legal team. city attorneys claim mirkarimi tried to get her to dissuade his neighbor ivory madison from going to the police after he had an argument with his wife eliana lopez and bruised her arm new year's eve. madison shot video of lopez's arm and called police. it may be hard to find a cab around lunchtime today. cab drivers plan to gather for a show of solidarity. they will caravan to an undisclosed location for iconic photo opportunity they say to protest proposed rule changes to be voted on tomorrow by the city's

may have delays here locally. check out our flight tracker abc7news.com. 4:49. new this morning, officials in pakistan say a u.s. drone strike has killed eight suspected militants. officers say four missiles were fired at a hideout in the eastern part of the country. that region has become a hub for al-qaeda and taliban activity. this is the 7th drone attack in two weeks they've become a source of friction between washington and pakistan. the obama administration says it has no intense of letting up on the drone campaign. this morning federal investigators will go through the wreckage of an air tanker that crashed while helping to fight a fire in utah two pilots were killed. the tanker went down in western utah near the bore we are nevada no indication -- near the border near nevada. the fire began burning friday after a lightning strike.
