details. >> there is new information today. the woman accusing pablo sandoval is 21 years old and lives in santa cruz counties. detectives are interviewing witnesses and processing evidence, hoping to get this case to the district attorney by the end of the week. >> investigators say the woman was with sandoval and a small group of people thursday night in a club in downtown santa cruz. employees confirmed this is where the third baseman was hanging out before he left the bar early friday morning. >> he was downtown in that small group with long with her. the group went to the resort in apt yos. >> so mer than just the two of them went to the resort? >> correct. >> the 21-year-old accuser claims the sexual assault took place in sea escape resort and reported the crime at 4:ta

friday morning. >> she contacted us from santa cruz county and was not the resort when we spoke to her. >> detectives contacted sand joe value. he drove his black porsche into the sheriff's office. investigators say he's cooperate with them. his attorney issued a statement saying he met with the santa cruz sheriff's department related to a consensual, personal relationship that took place on that day. yesterday, the slugger had this brief comment. >> i know i'd be asked this question. so i came to talk about it today, accusations are generating a lot of opinions in downtown. >> it happens to so many women and goes unreported i just tend to knee jerk belief the woman until proved otherwise. >> if it was consensual, that girl is just going for his money.

a 21-year-old was arrested and charged with kidnapping and murdering sierra. he has not yet entered a plea. >> and san jose water company owe fishes defending a proposal toib crease water rates by as much as 44%. today, california public utilities commission kicked off a special hearing on that rate hike. the bills of over one million water users will be higher if the company gets the okay. the company says efforts cut into earnings so it needs to increase rates to keep up with the service. >> there is a fixed cost that feeds to a rate increase. >> we have protested the requested 4% increase. we're presenting our recommendations to the commission. >> the state p.u.c. a new report shows how much just a few big don jurors thrown into california politics. california watch looked at top 100 check writers. a powerful club spent well over $1 billion to influence voters here. here is man yet miranda. >> california watch calls them rain makers. and this is a club of people in special interest groups influencing voters in election was their check books. it found top 100 political donors spent nearly $1 billion. the biggest spender is california teachers association. 118 tdzs million. pharma doling out $72 million.
