president obama in the bay area today for lightning fast fund raising visit. and landed in los angeles within the hour after a stop at the bay area today for a lunchtime fund-raiser. and there is is where president collected more cash he d just two weeks ago he was picking up $3 millioned. today, two back to back fund-raisers in the financial district and drawing big crowds. >> as the president stepped off air force one it must have felt like heading to the bank. there is a dinner and today went to collect $35,000 a head from ta donors who had an hour long meeting. then, the president headed up to market for a lunch at the merchant exchange building.

judge to validate the measure and get it implemented sooner limiting benefits and forces current employees to pay more or twitch to a -- stwoich a less expensive option. >> and what we're going to ask a judge to do is simple as what your parents told you. and that is that a plomis made must be a promise kept. >> whatever it takes to defend the measure as an appropriate expenditure. >> there is an agreement that it will not be implemented. >> and too close to call is the latest tonight on prop 29, the cigarette tax. and 49% voted yes. just 63,000 votes separating the two. prop 29 would add a $1 tax to a tax for cigarettes

and the ballots will decide this one. the only other measure on the ballot, prop 28 passed with more than 61% of the vote. the measure changes term limits for lawmakers and reduces total number of years they can serve but it allows state legislatures to spend them in either assembly or state senate. >> when people don't want to pay taxes, pechl if the bay area voted interestingly yesterday. showing they're willing to reach into pockets for education. at least 20 of the 24 school parcel taxes won yesterday. and abc 7 news is in the newsroom with result autos some districts have had furlough days meaning kids aren't being taut. what they're realizing is that the money is not coming from anywhere else a cording to the state superintendent they're

willing to invest in schools. >> the school district covers fairfax in marin county. and there are voters asked to extend the tax another eight years and increase by $149 or for a total of $458 a year and you didn't have to convince the parents here. they have seen what cuts and large class sizes look like. chris is the president of the school board. >> they would like to prioritize keeping our class sizes smau. and so. >> it will ensure class sizes remain intact. parents then had to convince the rest of the community.
