case no word on what that conflict might be. developing news from oakland. miss say they will have more information later today about a shooting involving one of its officers. this shooting took place near the corner of 105th and e-street 7:30 last night. the man in his 20s taken to the hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive. another person questioned police are not saying anything about that person or the circumstances surrounding the shooting. terry mcsweeney will have a live report coming up. oakland police say they are seeing a drop in the city's rising crime rate in the past month. over the past four weeks major crimes dipped 17%. burglaries dropped 20% violent crimes down 14%. the city says new crime fighting strategies and help from other agencies why major factors. all eyes from wall street to main street will be focused

they got to the scene right after the shooting. they got here quickly thanks to their shot spotter system. they the killer or killers were already out of here so they were not able to catch begin they did find a 31-year-old man lying in the driveway he was taken to the hospital and died. police say according to the shot spotter system nine shots were fired in this area. they have no idea what the motive could be. i asked if it was possibly gang-related? they say they don't know. it doesn't appear this could be at this point. what surprised officers is where this happened. east palo alto is known to have some pockets of dangerous gang activity but they say this neighborhood is not one of them. what their big request is this morning is for any witnesses to please come for.
