very low relative humidity. let's check on the winds first. still blowing out of the north-northwest, although gusts have started to die down. novato at 14, northerly, 21. half moon bay. fairfield, wind has shifted towards the north and they're getting gusts at 32 miles-per-hour, and look at the air. only 18% relative humidity in fairfield and napa. of course the moisture in the air is highest near the bay as well as the coast. with half hoop bay, 35 miles-per-hour. it's going to be much warmer tomorrow in the 90s, and a red flag warning will continue. we'll look at the numbers coming up. >> alan: the winds whipped up a grass fire along hyper87. one of several throughout the day, including one that firefighters just extinguished tonight in pittsburg. sergio kin -- quintana has the

latest. >> reporter: fire crews got out here at 9:30 and quickly got this one under control but like you mentioned, this is not the first such fire today. this afternoon in san jose, more than 50 crew members scrambled to contain a grass fire along the guadalupe parkway, this nine acres before crews were able to bring the fire under control. no homes or beenes were damaged but traffic on the freeway was squeezed down by one lane so fire crews could get to the flames. >> when crews got here it was a wind-driven fire. crews were chasing the fire. >> it's the winds this low humidity, the wind direction, several factors involved in this. and, yeah, when there's red flag warnings and everybody on a heightened level of alert. >> oakland fire crews had their hands full yesterday when a driver slammed into a power pole and started a grass fire in the oakland hills, yet another example of how dry patches of

the bay area are. it's very early in the fire season so many areas are designated as moderate fire danger levels but it's been a relatively dry rainy season, and i was talking to the battalion chief, and he says the irony is when it's beautiful weather in the bay area, that's when we have the highest fire dangers. reporting live in pittsburg, abc-7 news. >> alan: a wildfire threat is all too real in colorado where 46 homes have been evacuated because of a rapidly growing fire. you can see the winds pushing the flames along. the fire has spread to more than 5,000 acres tonight. ten structures have been damaged and the cause is still up known. meanwhile, six people traveling from colorado were battling a fire in their rv while driving down the road with 11 dogs and several cats inside. the rv burst into flames. it happened in alameda county

just after 9:30 this morning. they say it started inside the rv and spread quickly. >> when it all happened the dogs went running everywhere, and he the whole time the rv is burning down and there's still a dog in there. it's crazy. >> alan: the group bailed out along the road but the rv was destroyed toso the red cross was called out to help them. >> we're providing them with temporary lodging and some food and some clothing, and also some mental health counseling because there was some pet loss. >> one dog and four cats died in the fire. the group says it was touring the west coast. >> a pilot had to make a quick decision after his plane lost power over walnut creek. the nearest place to lan, a golf course. the plain took off from buchanan field in concord, that's where tomas row moan is live. >> it was a frightening time for

the pilot and close call for golfers. the pilot constant make it back to the buchanan field so he chose a nearby golf course instead. the single engine cessna landed near the second teal on the golf course. the pilot lost engine power after taking off at 9:30 this morning. he tried to glide back the field but fell short by 700 feet. chang lee saw the plain come down. >> they landed second tee box by the fence. one foot from the fence. and i think pilot, he jumped out. >> reporter: he did manage to jump out of the plane without injury. some golfers finding a different kind of obstacle to deal with played on and others helped move the crash off the course and back to the airport. the planees used by a flight training school. we called the owner0s who

declined to comment. >> it's unfortunate. but it happens. >> pilot says the pilot did the right thing in choosing an open area. >> you look for open areas. you can't always make it back the airport in they're case they had just taken off. i guess they were too low, but fortunately there was a golf course, and i know people haveland on golf courses before. >> planes flying into buchanan fields have had problems in the past, the worst was in 1985 when a beechcraft crashed into sun valley mall. there seven people died and dozen more were injure. no one was hurt in this landing. the faa and the ntsb are investigating the incident the name of the pilot has not been released. reporting live in concord, abc-7 news. >> ama: oakland police are searching for a suspect who shot and killed a young man on a scooter at 4:15 p.m. this afternoon. police say multiple shots were fired from a passing car.

the suspect then sped away, leaving the victim in the street. he died later at the hospital. a graduation party in antioch became the scene of a murder. police say someone opened fire on the party. killing one man and wounding another. it happened just before 3:00 a.m. at a house on west ninth andeye streets. police are not releasing the victims' names. >> alan: police arrest ate man wanted in friday's hit-and-run that critically injured a cyclist. steven norwick, a professor is still in a coma after being hit on petaluma hill road. an off-duty police officer spoated a pickup truck with front end damage that matched the description of the suspect vehicle. he called the police who arrest robert cowert yesterday afternoon. wowert says he left the scene of the crash was he was late for work. >> three people face charges in connection with a dead he shooting in san jose. police say two 18-year-old men and a 19-year-old man all believed to be from union city,

half moon bay. but the winds are starting to shift out of the north. this afternoon, generally out of the north-northwest. that's why the coastal community temperatures today in the mid-to-upper 60s in most locations, but now we're getting them to shift out of the north northeast and that's an offshore wind direction. fairfield, the higher elevations, northerly gusts to 41 miles-per-hour and it's the north to northeast winds that will definitely dry out the atmosphere, leading to the high increase in fire danger for the bay area. at least the next 24-367 -- 36 hours. we have a red-flag warning in effect until 11:00 tomorrow morning. gusts to 44 miles-per-hour. the higher elevation, east bay mountains and diablo range and that's going to dry out the atmosphere so relative humidities from anywhere from 10 to 10%. very dry expect tomorrow. speaking of tomorrow, warm to hot the next few days. here's the highlights.

fire danger increases and then as we get into wednesday and thursday next week, temperatures start to cool a bit. live doppler 7 hd showing you that we're not picking up any returns as we're sweeping live right now. the main concern tonight is going to be those gusty north to northeast winds. the one benefit is it will bring terrific visiblity tonight and tomorrow with clear sky and also going to increase the fire danger. a little tricky tonight. we still have 70s in the east bay. so i'm going to drop you down do the mid-to-low 60s. tomorrow, 58 for san francisco, and cooler towards the coast with half moon bay, 50. here's a look at the setup. high pressure will continue to build over the bay area tomorrow. and as it does so we're just going to set the stage for the offshore winds. when the winds sink, it come

presses close to the surface and we start to warm up. even the coast tomorrow will experience temperatures close to 70 degrees. a lot of 90s tomorrow. in the north bay, 93 for cloverdale. 91, santa rosa. napa, 92. 88 for san rafael. san francisco, drop four degrees, warm are tomorrow, with 78. 70 for half manitoba -- half moon bay. concord, livermore, oakley, mid-to-low 90s. gilroy, 93. windy conditions near santa cruz. a warm day with 86 and 82 in salinas. so sunday, monday, and tuesday, we'll keep temperatures, especially inland, on the warm side, 80s around the bay. 70s to upper 60s at the coast. the wind shifts on wednesday. cooler air moves in. the fog returns. the wind picks up. temperatures drop back into the low 80s inland. 70s around the bay, and the 50s at the coast.
