>> ama: red-flag warning. the high potential for wildfires in the bay area is extend through tomorrow. i'm ama daetz. >> alan: i'm. >> alan: lap. >> ama: first we begin with breaking news from the calistoga area. the firefighters are getting a hand on the wildfire in napa county. it burned one acre and is not contained. it broke out just before 4:00. viewers say the fire is putting up quite a bit of smoke in the area. >> alan: today's combination of strong winds, humidity, and warm

temperatures are a recipe for potentially fast-moving wildfires, sergio quintana is on mt. tamalpais where firefighters are going house-to-house. >> reporter: basically going door-to-door, to make sure residents have their properties maintained as fire season does begin, and this is kind of what firefighters are looking for. growth like this. you can see right now, a lot of this vegetation is actually still somewhat green, but if we continue to have dry days and windy conditions, this can dry out quickly, and if it's left next to homes there can be some dangerous fuel for wildland fires and this weekend we have seen several fires spark, prompting quick responses by crews. >> besides responding to rescue calls on mt. tam, the fire crews took preventive fire measures

with presidents. >> we had a few crews out combing the hillside year in the different neighborhoods for 4291 grass hazard program. >> the fire chafe came bay our neighbor's house and looked out our line and suggested we clear it, and we did. >> reporter: peter lee says it's a yearly reminder hi took care of early, because on this sunny sunday, he was preoccupied with a neighborhood birthday party. homeowners have trimmed and pruned to make sure they're ready for a fire season, and with the red-flag warning in effect, fire crews are on a heightened state of alert. it was a busy weekend in the bay area. in san jose there were two grass fires. this one was the most noticeable. wind-whipped flames burned through eight acres but it was contained in a few hours and no homes or businesses were affected. on friday, fire crews battles

this blaze in the oakland hills and flames came within inches of structures. this fire started when a car was in an accident and sparks started the fire which was boosted by the winds. >> today is a red-flag day. we have a breeze here. it's been hot all day. vegetation is dry. so we're here and ready, prepared in case something happens. >> reporter: along with the fire in oakland and the fire in san jose, there's also been a fire in solano county today and one out in pittsburg so the fires have been contained and that's because as part of the red are flash warring fire crews are dispatching out to fires to contain them as quickly as possible. reporting live. abc-7 news.

>> ama: hot and high temperatures certainly are cause for concern. >> alan: leaning leaning leaning has -- leigh glaser has been monitoring this warning. >> leigh: the red-flag warning is in effect for the higher elevations. 1 then feet or higher. that's where this is in effect for, and they have continued it in through 8:00 a.m. monday. gusts to 30 miles-per-hour possible, and it is in effect for the higher elevations. the north bay mountains, east bay hills, and the diablo range. humidity is very low as the air is drying things out a win. here's the look at wind speeds and relative humidities. north bay mountains, northeast gusts to 25 miles-per-hour with humidity levels down to 4%. east bay hills, relative humidity level, 26%, and you can see the diablo range, gusts up to 25 miles-per-hour.

12% humidity. here's a quick look at current readings. at it hot out there inland. in the 90s. 70s and upper 60s at the coast. when will we finally get relief from the cincinnati we will look at the forecast coming up. >> firefighters are still looking for the cause of a blaze that destroyed a mobile home near petaluma. investigators aren't sure how it started. the mobile home is a loss. the flames spread outside the surrounding ven -- vegetation. nobody was injured. >> in colorado, firefighters are having a tough time fighting a wildfire that has grown to 8,000 acres. it's more than 25 miles northwest ofpot collins. rugged and steep terrain has made the fight difficult. ten structures have been damaged and residents nearby have been evacuated. >> alan: in hayward, car plowed

into a road and say the driver struck a car, jumped a curb, and smashed into the garage of the house. witnesses say the driver was speeding and ran a stop sign. he was arrested for dui. >> ama: developing news from sacramento where police look to find answers and capture a killer after four people died from what detectives called a gang-relate shooting. it appears three men and one woman were shot to death inside a home a file miles out of sacramento. a fifth person end up in the hospital. police believe a person may be a suspect in the case and was shot by someone inside the home, a relative of the victims waited for answers today. >> i really want to know why it went down that way. for now we're all waiting for answers. >> ama: police have not revealed the names of people killed. detectives originally believed it was home invasion but are now unsure.

>> developing news out 0 alabama. an all-out man hunt is underway for the gunman responsible for a fatal shooting at a party. two of the deceased were on the football team. >> the gunman opened fire during a fight as a pool party in an apartment complex near auburn university. >> it was bat female. man. started from a female. we trying to get away from the trouble. and end up in our face. >> bullets hit six people. three died, including two former auburn football players. >> the only connection the auburn football team has to this is they're victims of a brutal shooting. sometimes young men get a bad rap, i feel like, but they're the victims today. >> the alleged gunman is still on the loot and has been charged with capital murder. >> we're currently in active

manhunt with the u.s. marshals and police department and auburn police detectives actively searching for him today. >> leonard lives in auburn but is not a university student. police are also looking for two other persons of interest. abc news. >> alan: in southwestern turkey, million crews are surveying buildings after a powerful earthquake shook the region overnight. security cameras captured the moment the magnitude 5.8 quake struck. one of the aftershocks was actually larger than the quake itself, measuring 6.0. there are reports of injuries during the panic but so far no reports of death. coming up, speculation ahead of apple's worldwide developer conference. what we expect the tech giant to unveil this week. >> progress on dozens of broken b.a.r.t. escalators at some of it's busiest stations. when the agency expects repairs to be done. >> welcoming the iowa. we'll show you the spectacular

backdrop here in the city of san francisco. >> ama: tomorrow happens to be the 50th anniversary of the actual escape from alcatraz but it remains unknown if three inmates actually made it to freedom. hmm. >> alan: hmm. warm enough to want to jump in the water until you do, and then you realize it's 50 degrees. >> ama: but a nice day to hit the beaches. perhaps the ocean beach. >> leigh: a great shot from ocean beach, everyone trying to escape the heat from the north bay and east bay woke indications, moving towards the west. it was crowded oat -- out there. not a lot of space. but everyone dipping their toes in the cold water. water temperatures near the coast and inside the bay, in the mid-50s, and that probably felt great if you were in antioch or brentwood or concord or santa rosa, where temperatures today in the mid-to-low 90s.

90 in santa rosa, 75 in san francisco. oakland, you warm to 77 degrees, that's where you are right now. 91 in antioch, concord, 99. and 87 in san jose. here's a look at some wind speeds. we have been talking about the higher elevations where the red flash warning is up until 4:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, that is. but you can clearly see the winds out of the northeast. 15 at fairfield. calm in livermore, and a westerly surge at sfo with gusts to 21, novato, 12 miles-per-hour. the west wind is bringings temperatures down. so the red flag warning is in effect overnight tonight, above 1,000 feet. those locations above that elevation. warm to hot the next few days, and then we'll start to cool down by mid-week. let's look at live doppler 7 hd. it's all clear as we span live

this hour, and we will definitely see mainly clear conditions tonight as high pressure will still be with us. temperatures last night in the inland east bay locations in the mid-60s. probably do that again tonight. you're going to hold a little more of the heat as the northeasterly winds will continue to funnel through the gaps there. antioch, down to 64. 64 for concord. 50s widespread from san rafael, 55, san francisco, and half moon bay tonight with clear conditions, 54 degrees. the setup or the culprit for the strong offshore winds, actually two systems. one high pressure to the north and west. low pressure to the south and east of us. wind flows from high, funnels down, and then moves into the low, and that's why we're getting the offshore winds and they will be with us for one more day. this tight pressure gradient will start to relax a little tomorrow afternoon and that's when the winds will start to die down. highs tomorrow, similar to
