widow. san francisco police chief is holding a news conference right now on the beating death of a man who attended the beta brakers race. stephen martin died friday after family members removed him from life support. witnesses say he was suckered of -- sucker punched and then hit his head on the curb. martin is with the green hair. police released video showing the area at golden gate park where martin was beaten. witnesses say he argued with some men wearing 49er jerseys before he was punched. police are asking people to look through pictures to see if they captured that incident. if you have information call the is -- call the san francisco police or text information. we posted the details at abc7news.com. you can look under see it on tv. >> leann melendez will have

reports starting at 4:00. imperial county officials are deciding whether to charge a man caught on tape beating his stepson with a belt after the boy dropped a ball during a game of catch. a neighbor shot this video showing anthony sanchez repeatedly hitting a 10-year-old boy. sanchez turned himself in friday on suspicion of felony child abuse. he has posted $100,000 bond. the neighbor oscar lopez picked up his camera when he heard shouting in the backyard. >> fact there was adult disciplining a child in the middle of a game of catch, i didn't -- i couldn't understand that. what was so shocking was the fact it continued to escalate. >> lopez is a youth football coach who teaches kids about bullying. saturday he resigned from his elective position on the imperial irrigation district board of directors. opening statements started

today in the child sex abuse trial of jerry sandusky. this morning the lead prosecutor described him as a predatory pedophile. he said sandusky took advantage of boys with stable home lives and abused them for years. -- with unstable home lives and abused them for years. sandusky says he's . the defense says the case is flimsy and says some of the young men have a financial interest in the case. federal officials say commerce secretary john bryson suffered a seizure in connection with two traffic accidents over the weekend. bryson seen here with president obama is under investigation for felony hit-and-run. saturday, police say bryson rear-ended a car in san gabriel. he got out of his car and spoke with the men and got back in his car and hit the car again as he left. the men followed him calling 911. five minutes later bryson

you by mancini sleepworld. in contra costa county four families are looking for a new place live after a fire. this was sent via twitter by the fire crews on the scene. flames were shooting out of the apartment building. two units in the building were destroyed, two others heavily damaged. the families, 12 adults and two children got out okay no injuries the cause of the fire under investigation. in hayward, a firefighter rescued this 13-year-old bassett hound last night. it happened on lafayette about 8 p.m.. the couple managed to get out safely but told firefighters their dog mattie who is blind in within eye, was still inside. the firefighter in the picture found mattie in one of the bedrooms and carried her out safely. support to host robin roberts as she begins her latest health battle. this morning she revealed is now facing another life-threatening illness, five years after beating breast cancer. >> it is something that is called mds. and if you look it up, i was doing the same thing. >> surrounded by her gma family she announced today she begins treatment for a rare bone marrow ab mall one that dr. besser explains -- could lead to anemia, low blood count, infection and bruising. >> these abnormal cells can develop into leukemia that's the concern. >> i didn't want you to be concerned if you saw a bandage tomorrow. it is going to be fair to -- there to draw blood that has to be monitored regularly and administer drugs today and for the week and a period of time. all to prepare me for a bone
