from sky 7 hd over the scene at the time this, is near franklin canyon golf course. the pole and lines fell across the roadway, blocking lanes and pg&e is doing repairs as i speak. take a look at this shot from sky 7. fire cruise called to that scene and immediately began putting out fire. and the driver escaped the burning car on injured. this created a traffic nightmare, this is a look at highway 4 all the way up to as far as interstate 80. and now, live, you can see this line is still down across the street. they have disconnected power from the line. it's no longer a live wire. but the car is engulfed in flames and again that, driver did escape injury. pg&e told us that 36 kpers are with out power and have been affected by that line.

we're following breaking news. this is san bruno ae. you can see firefighters on the roof of this apartment building right now and this is a dental office on the first floor. and there is thick, dark smoke now. >> the fire is burning on the first floor. and there is smoke coming at them trying to punch holes to get smoke out of there. to the left of the screen there are hoses they're trying to put out the fire below. and this is san bruno avenue dental group on the ground floor. and sky 7 is fighting this

there is smoke just billowing out. seems like it will be fed by fuel. and the firemen do seem calm and seem to know the source of the smoke and fire. they're working on putting this out. looks like two units. there is a pretty big crowd here. and if this is a business or residential, mixed use? what is that building? >> this brown building is residential. the one on the right is -- looks like mixed use. looks like a dentist office there. and there is a big crowd gathered here, they're not taking people back too far. people are just about 50 or 60 yards from the fire scene here.

want to give you an update on breaking news we've been following. a fire burning in a building. actually it's two buildings and latest we can hear now is that one person has been burned and not clear whether it's a normal citizen or a firefighter but one person burned so far. and smoke does not appear to be dissipating. >> we do know it wasn't a firefighter injured so it was someone in a building in san francisco's portolla district. you can see firefighters up on the crew. ripping into the roof. there is so much thick, dark smoke coming out of the roof top. and and qeem you
