the train rolled into the station this afternoon at 3:what with full service at normal speed expected at 5:15 this evening that. is when all day bart is saying maybe they can single track. service was restored before 4:00. bart called it a heoic effort from workers here getting service restored required replacing a warped third rail, testing a set of power cables and replacing smaller communications and trains controlled electrickics. first of several trains rolled at about pk this afternoon, passenger service restored about 45 minutes later. >> this will be slower speeds moving into a safer speed and there is again a goal goal to

and and and there is a project under construction whit caught fire this morning. these pictures from jason b show how a building was nearly framed. this is how close it was to west oakland bart tracks. there is that is i told me they were 95% done and planning to wrap this portion of the project, the framing portion that, is, next week. now, the investigation focuses on a possibility of arson as a caution of the fire. there is a is after

there is a side of the car burned. melted taillights and flat tires. you can see heat just melting part of the car away. and there is a idea of how close fire was to west oakland bart station. that construction on 7th street is pretty much bumped up next to the bart tracks on 7th street only 243 feet coming between the two. that is why flames have such a serious impact on the tracks and service. >> and bart shut down had people scrambling. and there is a mark matthews live in san francisco. mark, long lines formed all afternoon. >> and there is last of the long lines. it's disappearing into the terminal here that, is good news. ferry service estimates 12,000 to 13,000 passengers crossed the bay today and this is
