bart is back on track this morning. there are still plenty of unanswered questions about what led to the huge fire that disrupted the commute across the bay. >> we have continuing coverage of the transbay turmoil this morning. terry mcsweeney is monitoring overnight track testing by bart. amy hollyfield has the latest on the fire investigation. we start with frances dinglasan in the traffic center. thanks. just got the latest from bart. now they are reporting no delays at all. the past few hours they've been reporting 5 to 10 minute delays due to emergency track maintenance that has been off and on. right now, no delays. that's the absolute latest. live shot of the bay bridge toll looking very normal friday light just back up for some of the cash paying lanes yesterday fastrak lanes were skipping through. if you happened to go through without fastrak not too late

to sign up and you can avoid that toll violation penalty. terry mcsweeney continues our live team coverage from the west oakland bart station. those repairs seem to be holding. >> reporter: they certainly do. i've been seeing things that i didn't see yesterday, bart trains rolling, rolling, rolling. early morning inspection that sealed the deal took place up there and that is where the damage was done and that is where the repairs were made. check this morning, they are holding up. take a look at crews doing the repair work on the damaged parts kept bart shutdown for 12, 13 hours yesterday it was a disaster, 100 people working nonstop to get those trains rolling. fire destroyed a number of insulators which hold up the third rail which was warped. also several hundred feet of communications cable damaged. i talked to a bart spokesman

and he says this morning it is all systems go. >> we were essentially testing whether the repairs that we made yesterday were still intact and whether everything was good to go for increased train speeds. everything looks good. the people who worked on it yesterday morning and early afternoon did an awesome job. >> reporter: by 5:15 last evening, 60 trains were rolling, normal for a thursday afternoon. after the early morning inspections it is going to stay normal all day long. that's the plan that's what it looks like right now. terry mcsweeney, abc7 news. 6:03 now. investors still looking for three people seen near the construction site before it burst into a fiery inferno. amy hollyfield continues our live team coverage with that part of the story. >> reporter: investigators tell me they don't know why someone would want to set this

building on fire. they think arson is a possibility in this case. the security guard who was hired to watch over this building says three young men were harassing him and tried to attack him right before the fire started. authorities say the fire spread so quickly it makes them wonder if some type of accelerant was used. fire officials brought in federal investigators from the alcohol tobacco and firearm bureau to help with the case. >> atf does investigate suspicious fires. one of the areas we look at is the complexity of the fire. the impact of property damage or loss of life. >> reporter: this was going to be an apartment building for low income seniors it was under construction the four story building was destroyed. this is the fire that burned the electrical system for the bart tracks, caused a tremendous amount of problems in the neighborhood burning

unknown. amy hollyfield joins us live with the leads investigators are following. >> reporter: local investigators have asked federal investigators to help them on this case. the feds can't get in yet, this building has been red tagged officials say it isn't safe. agents from the bureau of alcohol tobacco and firearms will be here to take a closer look and see if someone intentionally set this fire. officials think that is a possibility for two reasons. one, because the fire spread so quickly. and secondly, because the security guard who was here reported seeing three young men here before the fire he says they were harassing him. investigators want to find those men and they want help from federal officials. >> the scene is currently red tagged by a structural engineer. until the engineer says it is safe to work atf will be on

there's a new crash reported in the north bay jamison canyon near highway 29. with the waze traffic maps, we are seeing a little slowing 38 miles per hour on jamison canyon towards napa westbound highway 12. we'll keep you posted on this no injuries and just property damage looks like this will clear quickly. we'll let you know. the great news this morning is that bart reporting no delays. there have been intermittent minor delays due to track maintenance. everything is looking good right now that's great news for commuters. other mass transit systems reporting no delays. a lot of folks heading to the u.s. open if you are driving park at candlestick if you are taking bart get off at the colma station, live shot bay bridge toll, metering lights on backed up just beyond the end of the parking lot.
