a state transportation officials run in with the law tlod a public education campaign by using hands free devices to do things like texting while driving.

>> this involves a state transportation official from southern california, pulled over after an officer thought she was texting on her phone at a red light, just charging her phone. she showed that to the officer but it turns out she may as well have been texting in the eyes of the law. california transportation commissioner learned something new about the law last week. a police officer led her go without a citation if she'd post the lesson on her facebook page, do not cradle your phone to check if its charging. that is illegal ask could get you a ticket. he got out of the ticket in exchange for posting the experience. >> there the only purpose you can use the phone is for making a hands free call.

>> there is breaking news in arizona a major fire is burning in the town of gilbert about a half hour east of phoenix. several explosions have been heard out there. there is no word of what started this fire. and there is owe vac waigss continue in colorado. flames charred about 90 square miles and nearly 1800 people are fighting that fire and this is fire destroyed at least 181 homes, then, in san diego county there is a wildfire destroying a home that is now 30% contained,

threatening some 200 structures. there is a mix eve vac waigss in that area and there are school ace out, oakland expan expanding a summer lunch program. there are 144 loks where kids with receive a free meal, 30 more locations than last year, the meals are offered in schools, library and community jernts. 20,000 kids are eligible for free lunches. the program keeps many of them from going hungry while school is out. >> this may be their one meal they have. during the day. so this is pretty important. and this also means they're able to continue with what they've got during the school year, a nutritious lunch. >> menu is expanding. gone are chips and friz. they've been replaced by fruits and salads. parents are being educated about healthy habits. >> good thing to do. >> and there is a time lapse
