in san francisco now. a main jail is on lock down because of a power outage at the hall of justice. electricity went out just before 1:30 in the afternoon. the building houses courtrooms and a county jail. this is where building emergency generator is producing part of the power, it's not affecting 911 calls, pg&e says they're working with the city to resolve this issue. >> one of the chowchilla school bus kidnappers walked out of court after a court ordered him patrolled. he must wear a gps. he was paroled to the home of a relative here, his brother, james and their friend remain in prison in connection with that 1976 hijacking of a school bus, driver and 26

by shouting from the hallway and the bailiff rushing into the courtroom. >> the father lindner saw the jury brought up through a stairwell. there was a confrontation. >> it involved this woman whork says she was molested for years by the former priest. >> it happened really fast. yeah. i have a right. you need to look at me. and then, the bailiff or whoever stopped her. she started crying. >> it could have got physical what. do you suspect? this guy did evel things to a lot of people and nobody has done nothing about it all of these years. >> father lindner accused will lynch of beating him but denied molesting lynch and his brother in 1975. in opening statement the prosecutor said her own witness would probably lie about the molestation. and it appears that is triggered an avalanche of legal issues. >> i expect there is trouble here. we saw that today. the judge is having trouble with the two attorneys. they can't come to an gromt.

i think someone is looking for a dismissal, someone looking for a plea bargain. >> abc 7's dean johnson says those are just two possibilities and he believes ultimately that this state attorney general could be asked to look into a per jerry charge. they'll be talking tomorrow. the jury due back on monday. >> there is a man in intensive care after being shot by a patrol officer following a pursuit in sunnyvale. the chase ended around 1:30 this morning. investigators say the man refused to pull over when an officer tried to stop him. the officer followed him into sunnyvale. the two struggled and that is when the officer shot him seven times, investigators spent the day looking for evidence. >> there is a deadly fire swept through a home in berkeley.

neighbors tried to help rescue a woman but couldn't reach her. that is where wayne freedman is live with the story. wayne? >> there is the name of the woman who died in the fire, meredith joyce, a berkeley resident. we do not know if she was living in the house or visiting. we know two other people went to the hospital and the berkeley fire department officials are trying to find out what happened. >> in berkeley, the front view gives hardly a clue about what happened signed of this century-old house this morning. >> the flames going up. >> there is one man screaming. i could not exactly tell what he's screaming. it turns out he was screaming the woman, who is deceased name. >> the neighbor among others went into the burning house to locate and hopefully save her. they got no more than 15 feet.
