looking afternoon but we still have a low pressure spinning to the north and west of us. that will maintain cool numbers below where they should be here in the city. as much as 8 degrees below average. high of 51 degrees for the pride parade and many other festivities. we'll get to some of them and look ahead coming up. the 42th annual san francisco pride festivities in full swing leading up to the main event, the parade. let's take a quick look. it starts about 90 minutes from right now at market and beale streets. the party continues all day. tens of thousands of people poured into the castro district for a street festival. sergio quintana looks at what has changed and what has stayed the same. >> sandwiched among the thousands are the usual sights. there are the sisters of perpetual inindulgence and the

years and lots, if not all of these attendees are pushing for few more changes. gay parade starts at 10:30 and culminates at civic center. that party will continue on through the rest of the day. >> terry: san francisco's annual pink triangle ceremony honored gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender victims of the holocaust. in keeping with tradition, friends of the ceremony laid out the one acre pink triangle overlooking the city. this is reminder of nazi practice of identifying homosexuals with a badge in the shape of a pink triangle. now take a look at this picture, sally will be marching in the gay parade this morning. we would like for you to send us your pictures.

developing news, muslim brotherhood candidate mursi has been declared winner over egypt's elections. take a look at tahrir square, a huge crowd of supporters erupted in cheers that he won by a margin of 51% to his president obama's 58 48.3. it came three days later than planned the announcement. >> an antioch man, what happened to him, he lived through it and he has also seen the surveillance video. john alston shows us that video as the man describes the moment that could have turned the armed robbery into a murder. >> when he pulled into his driveway, this is how he was greeted. a hooded man pointing a gun to me. >> he put it directly in my

accord. it was about a month ago he installed surveillance cameras for peace of mind. he never imagined he would capture him bag victim. >> the homeowner says he wanted to tell his story on television to get the word out things like this could happen to anyone and people should be aware of their surroundings. >> a pregnant woman is recovering this morning from a beating while traveling on bart and she says lots of people saw it but no one tried to help. 26-year-old woman has a black eye and bruises after she said a man and woman attacked her. man beat her while the woman tried to grab her iphone and she says at least 15 people stood by and watched. >> people will be there and they will see you in a public area. they see you, but they are going

to watch you until that person kills you or something. >> terry: someone finally did step forward, pulling her into another car, bart police say passengers claim they tried to help her but backed off when the male suspect reached into his waistband possibly going for a weapon. >> a sacramento man is back home after a 50-foot boat was struck by a whale during a trip off the coast of mexico. he was on final trip on his trip when it happened. 67-year-old retired high school teacher says the whale seemed to come out of nowhere, hit his boat and almost sent him overboard. >> i didn't like the fact of drowning. i said this is not going to work. >> terry: five hours after the accident young was rescued from his sinking boat by a freighter that went off course to save his life.

executive privilege over criminal cover-up of a crime. lying to congress is a crime. every right to see documents to say, did you know what, did you know including even the president. >> terry: attorney general has released 7600 documents related to fast and fewerous. so far there is nothing related to the white house. >> this weekend thousands more colorado residents are evacuated from their homes because of wildfires. meteorologist ginger zee has our update. >> unruly flames erupting across the west. latest out outbreak around colorado. where low humidity fueled the fire. flames covering 150 acres threatening 250 homes. 150 miles north, another wildfire facing mandatory evacuations. with 21 structures already

and a researcher says there is hazardous cargo along for the ride. wayne freedman brings us the story. >> reporter: it is the biggest thing to wash in oregon in a long time. seven feet tall, 19 feet wide, 66 feet long, a dock after japan's tsunami covered with non-native marine life. hence the shoveling and worry. >> it came by populations and may spread up and down the coastline. >> that dock in oregon called detection to the problem. oregon is one place, they have the hulls of ships or getting into the balast water and being transported to another part of the world where they establish themselves often to the detriment to the ecosystem. >> it's a lot of material. >> in richmond, he held much of

>> terry: this morning, forecasters expect tropical storm debby to strengthen as it heads toward the texas coast but land full is not imminent. they are concerned over high surf causing dangerous conditions. debby could have near hurricane-force winds in the next few days and top winds right now are 50 miles per hour. a far cry from what we got around here. >> very calm and very subtle change day to day. we are looking at a nice pattern. i suspect somebody does. we'll start with this forecast from mount tam. few clouds floating by. marine layer the inversion has mix order out. we're not talking about the low clouds and fog. more sunshine to start off. live doppler 7-hd. we can pick up lower clouds bury nothing to speak of this morning. in fact we will look for maybe some mist and drizzle as we head towards tomorrow and back to the low clouds and fog by tuesday.

as things get back to normal. 60 in mountain view. we're at 57 in oakland. fairfield at 60. upper 50s in livermore and down by the monterey bay, lots of sunshine with upper 50s for you, as well. 59 in monterey. mostly clear. a cool started to your sunday. lots of sunshine for today. the atmosphere has really settled in. those cool conditions from the north and west of us that doesn't want to move out of town yet but we will look for the warmer pattern on the backside of it by the middle of the week. 60s and 70s once again today. really we should be much warmer than that. east bay valleys should be well into the mid 80s keeping us as much as 12 degrees below the average. oakland and san francisco, nice afternoon, but that sea breeze will keep it on the cool side and san jose, just 71 degrees today. here is a look at what is going on. the upper-level low, it's been

sitting here for the past couple of days. it continues today to maintain a cool flow over much of california. it's going to start to move out tomorrow but not in time to bring us any real change. we'll rake up to more sun. atmosphere continues to be well mixed but once it slides to the east of us, we'll get back to low clouds and fog and more typical 30-35 degree spread. very little change today. statewide, quite comfortable, in the 90s. 80 in sacramento with more sunshine and 60s and 70s for the sierra nevada. if you are headed to the east bay today, more mid 60s with the winds increasing and sea breeze in the afternoon. starting out low 60s, ending in the mid 60s. for san francisco, just about like what we had yesterday with 61 at 4:00 in the afternoon. north bay, some of the warmest numbers, just about 72 at 4:00

good morning. on friday the giants staged a big rally to get by the eyes. last night oakland tried to return the favor. m balm ballroom got off to a shaky start for san francisco. josh read i can goes deep with a man on. this makes it 2-0. pablo sandoval base hit gets by jonny gomes, that allows posey to score from first. they would tie it at 2. a's retook the lead. gomes makes up the error with a solo shot off madison bumgarner. wheels would come off for oakland in the sixth, san doval's grounder goes by moss, two runs score. brandon belt put the giants on top by connecting. this made it 6-4. giants scored three more on the seventh, two on this shot by posey. they went to the bottom of the ninth. they would not go down without a

>>. >> terry: in oakland the battle to stop four schools from closing continue this morning. they 6 camped out for more than a week, the protests. lisa amin gulezian explains why the district refuses to budge. >> the school board shut down five schools and foreclosed on one thousand of our children. >> hundreds gathered in the plaza to demand change and then they marched. >> parents, teachers, students and people who were simply concerned with the direction of

education united. they want the oakland unified school district to reopen five elementary schools. board voted to close. it prompted a sit-in where parents and children set up tents and have been camping out since last friday. on monday police posted signs ordering them to leave. the group refuses to budge. >> we want them to reopen schools or resign or the board needs to revote and be heroes so we can improve public education. >> as for revisiting the school closure discussion that is a decision the board would have to make but it's extremely unlikely. >> the district insists right now there is way too many schools in a city of this size and student enrollment is dropping. officials say consolidated will go make the school system more efficient and it will save the district $5.7 million. >> could we keep these schools

building track from bakersfield to madera. but it could be a train to nowhere. l.a. times reports that alternative plans are being drawn up to get more votes by committing funds to high ridership areas such as the bay area or los angeles. the 49ers and the city of santa clara will try to figure out what to do now that saint clare county has cut $30 million from the team's stadium project. "mercury news" reports the country property tax board voted friday to spend the money on schools instead. they found a loophole in the law that let's them do it. changes in redevelopment funding gives counties total control how the money is spent. money amounts to less than 3% of the total cost of building the stadium. they expect the 49ers to absorb the loss. voting season is now in full swing at lake tahoe to make sure that invasive speaker's don't

get into the lake. good news, experiments on getting rid of one harmful species appear to be paying off. here is dan ashley with this assignment 7 reported. >> dan: you might call this the unwelcomed mat. this u.c. davis video shows researchers spreading sheets of rubber on the bottom of the lake. it's aan attempt to smother a species called the asian clam. >> it blocks the oxygen and clams are underneath it. >> they are tiny but they 6 the potential to cause big problems. so a multi-agency task forces is trying to control the clams before it's too late. they took a crew out the lake how it's going. in some areas the clams are easily visible through a scope. >> every white dot is a dead clamshell. there are a lot more live ones. >> we sped up the video how they bury themselves in the sand. they were first discovered in

tahoe ten years ago and they spread fast. >> these guys can grow faster and more efficiently than the native clams. >> the clams encourage algae which clouds the famous clear waters. their shells are sharp and make beaches dangerous. scientists say the most serious threat may be the clams change the water chemistry so it's easier for other even more harmful species to survive. ted is with the tahoe regional planning agency. >> you combine effects and it could be as much as $22 million in year in lost property values, recreation, increased maintenance of boats and boat engines. >> this picture shows how thick the infestation is. so far the klamgs are mostly in the southeastern part of the lake but a small colony is beginning to grow at the mouth of emerald bay. >> emerald bay is one of the most popular and beautiful parts

of lake tahoe. it is the site of a pilot project that started a year ago. divers put down 2,000 square feet of those rubber mats that we showed you earlier. >> it's a lot of work. these rubber mats are heavy. they have a lot of rebar keeping them in place. >> we were there as researchers pulled the entire engs piaryd out of the water piece by piece. divers took clam samples for analysis. after a few weeks the news is good. >> it was very effective. >> the mats killed about 80% of the clams by cutting off their oxygen. that result combined with earlier research is leading the team to recommend a much larger project putting mats on five acres of emerald bay. it would cost about $800,000. >> anybody that wants to bring a boat to lake tahoe must be inspected. best way to keep getting the

great day down. there lisa says it will be around 71 degrees down there at santa cruz. a lot of sunshine. sun exposure linked to more than million cases of seven cancer every year in the u.s. you might have a tough time picking out which one you should be using. here is michael finney with results of recent tests. >> whether you are relaxed lacksing on the beach it's critically important to protect yourself. consumer reports have tested 18 sun screens. names like banana boat and copper tone, to nutregena. >> we tested them for two types of radiation. >> both types contribute to skin

cancer so it's important to use a sunscreen that protects against both. >> they applied sunscreen to people's back and then exposed them to uvb or uva rays. they sit in water up to 80 minutes depending on the claim. >> we also critical wave length test that determines if a sunscreen contains a sufficient level of protection. >> two products claim uva and uvb failed the test. but for fun in the sun without the worry, consumer reports found two very good inexpensive sun screens. walgreen's continuous spray, spf-50. both were rated against both types of radiation making them

you can see it right here. we do have a system to the north that is really taking command of our weather not only yesterday, today, tomorrow and in fact we'll look for this to lift on out while we begin the workweek tomorrow. 60 in mountain view. 60 by the delta. 57 in the city with 59 in san jose. notice no clouds around with upper 50s but a beautiful looking sky out there. great visibility with the clear conditions. so the low clouds and fog. they are gone. they have been mixed on out due to the colonel cooler on atmosphere. it will take a day and a half to get it inversion reestablished. by tuesday that comes back. we'll stick with the sunny skies and then warm up to 80-degree range and mid 80s that will take us around average. we should be in the mid 80's. livermore valley, kind of a treat for you. low 70s if you like it cool. that is 12 degrees below where you should be. redwood city, 69 degrees.

plenty of 60s out there around the city. oakland should be around 71. here is the biggest deviation 70s instead of low to mid 80s. here is the low. it continues to the north and west of us sitting here and it's allowing the trough, cool sea breezes and cool air mass to influence our weather maintaining the blow average temperatures. that will be the indication again today. very little change with temperatures running shy where they should be. it doesn't look much like the first weekend of summer with 60s and 70s. just a couple of 80s. 80 in sacramento, 103 in palm springs. 79 in yosemite. no more rain for much of california. we have that in pacific northwest yesterday. yesterday the cool breezes continued for the east bair with numbers starting out about 1:00, 60 degrees. mid 60s later on and sea breeze kicking up. we'll have that in san francisco 61 at 4:00 and then north bay
