hope you had a great weekend 5:00 on this monday, thanks for joining us i'm kristen sze. i'm eric thomas. next stop for stadium project may be a courtroom. 30 million dollars is in jeopardy. santa clara is considering suing the county to get it back. katie marzullo is in santa clara with more. >> reporter: this morning might mark the beginning of a legal battle over the new 49er stadium. to many people's surprise santa clara county pulled 30 million dollars in funding that was earmarked for the new stadium project. why? the oversight committee an designed look at that money after the governor took way the redevelopment agencies said the money should go to education and schools and other institutions for the community. the problem is, it was in 2010 that voters approved 40 million dollars in

redevelopment money to be spent on the 49er stadium, 10 million dollars of that was spent and out in remaining 30 million dollars is apparently being revoked many at least one councilman is confused about the whole deal. >> we backed everything so the 49ers would be on the hook. we are in good shape. it is a disappointment because the 49ers were promised this and voters voted overwhelmingly for this and the school district supported it. it is puzzling itch >> reporter: we expect to hear -- to hear more from the 49ers this week. an attorney for the team says the city is obligated, i should say the county is on getted to pay what it promised according to the -- is obligated to pay what it promised. lawsuits are likely. katie marzullo, abc7 news. stockton san joaquin county on the verge of america's largest city to file for bankruptcy many officials

-- [ inaudible ] [ unintelligible ] fire investigators may finish sifting through the debris at the site of a massive fire at west oakland bart station sometime today. they've gone through 30,000 pounds of rubble left when a senior home construction burned to the ground 10 days ago. investigators have not said if they found anything pointing to the cause. that blaze crippled the commute for several hours shutting down bart service from east bay to san francisco. cool weekend, looks like we'll start our workweek the same way which is great.

spokesman for the show jeopardy says host alex trebek is expected to make a full recovery from a mild heart attack he's said to be in good spirits under observation at a los angeles hospital. doctors are running more tests. the 71-year-old is expected to return to hosting the game show when it goes back into production in july. trebek has been hosting jeopardy for 28 years. scientists working with physicist stephen hawking to turn mind reading from dream to reality. paralyzed by lou gehrig's is tested out technology that lets him communicate through brain waves and bypass his body. the brain scanner measures electrical activity when hawking just imagines using his hands or feet. it may literally read a person's mind. next, breaking news redwood city, investigators on the scene of morning house
