arson. amy hollyfield joins us live. >> reporter: good morning. take a look police now are in charge of this case. an officer is working on his investigation right now as we watch him take pictures of this car that was set on fire they believe it was set on fire about 3:00 this morning what is suspicious is the other car that caught fire is across the street not next to each other so it would be an odd coincidence for two cars to cap fire right in the middle of the night across the street from each other around the same time 15 yards apart. add into the fact that two weeks ago there was another car fire in redwood city and that one caused more damage it spread to the apartment building next to where the cars were parked they were also parked in a carport like this one outside apartments. that one sent 25 people running out of their homes to safety. two units were destroyed eight damaged.
6:03 am
no one was hurt this morning's fire did not spread to any buildings, firefighters say they got the fires out in five minutes, not a big deal on the firefighting front it is the investigation that is going to be super important on this one. no one was hurt this morning. firefighters were quick to realize this looks suspicious looks like the work of someone that's why they brought in the police department and appointed police the lead agency on this case. amy hollyfield abc7 news. thank you very much. 6:03. the alameda county sheriff's office investigating a police shooting in hayward last night. police officers shot and wounded suspect on the sidewalk on a street near santa clara street the shooting happened in front of a check-cashing store police tell us that business is not involved. details of what led up to the shooting at 10:00 last night not release we'll bring more information as that information becomes available.

30 million dollars worth of funding for the new 49er stadium may be in jeopardy. katie marzullo join us live from santa clara to explain. >> reporter: as you can see construction well underway at the site of the future 49er stadium now we are talking about 30 million dollars it doesn't look like either side is going to let that money go easily 30 million dollars in redevelopment money the county of santa clara had it was approved by voters in 2010 to go toward the new 49er stadium project. there's an oversight committee that was created to look over these redevelopment funds after the governor dissolved agencies committee is recommending the county pull that money from the construction at the stadium and instead put it towards schools and other things that they say the community needs. meanwhile, the city and 49ers say no way that money has been committed you have to give it to the stadium project and

this morning reaction is mixed. >> we think public tax money should go to public tax needs, schools community colleges all the things our tax money should support not a private corporation. >> we backed everything so the 49ers would be on the hook we are in good shape disappointment, because the 49ers were promised this and voters voted overwhelming for this and the school districts supported it. it is puzzling. >> reporter: attorneys for the 49ers say a lawsuit is likely. attorneys for the county say these funds are not unenforceable obligation. construction all the while moves forward on this project total cost 1.2 billion dollars. katie marzullo abc7 news. :05. in antioch, police are looking for an armed robber -- robber soon on cameras installed by a homeowner who became his victim. eric gilbert pulled into his driveway friday morning 3 a.m. when an armed robber pointed a
