blocks behind me, all afternoon. let's go to sky 7. i can tell you what happened this afternoon. the sheriff's office tells us a man was shot in the face and deputies surround that had apartment. you can see a lot of deputies on the second floor, we can only assume they thought the shooter was in there. we saw a deputy with a bull horn, we can only assume they're trying to communicate. there is a canine unit. the dog had been there pretty much all day. sargeant nelson told us that there had been no arrests. so again, deputies went inside of the apartment building on the -- on the second floor, and they found no one there. and they thought maybe the shooter was there. so sarnlent nelson tells us they have to follow other leads that is what they're doing. >> and there is a second

deadly accident in three months in antioch is renewing calls for improved safety measures in that area. a 17-year-old died after being struck by a freight train bound for oakland. she happened to be friends with a young man who died in that spot in april. she's being remembered as a popular girl with a positive personality and neighbors are demanding something be done. >> the police station right there you would think there is something else you can do. >> she was a cool person. she was a person to kick it w you know? everybody liked her. she was just happy. >> california public utilities commission are investigating this incident. they had no comment for us tonight. >> 4th of july is a week away. authorities are out to get powerful fire works off the streets. abc 7 news accompanied a team of investigators as they acted on a tip and raided two homes
