an accidental end of a brutal road of heroin and alcohol addiction. >> do you have regrets about how -- >> i regret my daughter just passed away. i suppose i could have handled certain situations better than i did. >> it's been more -- >> mitch is also a singer in a similar style. he was in new york preparing for a gig when his daughter died. >> how we got home, i don't know. how we got back, i couldn't tell you. we got to the house. and those people -- i couldn't tell you what it was like. the hundreds of people, my family and friend were there. it was beautiful. i knew that tifs going to make it. because of all these people. >> mitch is now written a book, amy, my daughter. >> set the record straight. >> she set the record straight. >> mitch insists amy had been clean of drugs for three years

and was controlling the alcoholism, a sweet, funny daughter, says mitch, with a wild side. >> of course there is no smoke without fire. i'm not trying to reinvent am. she was what she was. >> mitch and i met at jazz after dark in london's sew hoe. >> what did this place mean to amy. >> it really was where she cut her teeth. >> performing with the house band, mitch held amy's wake here, paints of her cover the walls. >> the problems that amy had started with my mother passing away. they were like sisters. >> the grammy goes to -- >> she hit the big time bagging five grammys back to black and that's when her ex blake re-emerged. he of the tattoo of her left breast. >> do you blame blake. >> he stood up and said i switched amy on to drugs.
