busy night. tonight the city's brown outs will be in effect. and that means stations which carrying water is out of service with the engine company on station 23 considered one of the busiest stations. the back up plan went into action around 3:00 today, and that is when firefighters say fire works landed on the roof of what used to be the old oakland city hall. wood gutters caught on fire, burning a hole in the attic, firefighters here say the back up plan worked. >> i came outside and saw the fire. i started to tell my mom, my sister and everybody. >> this worked as it should have. the next company, next got there one minute later. >> with water? >> correct. >> and oakland does have one of the best unsanctioned

a new field poll shows governor brown's approval rating is slipping and shows it dropped to 44% down four points from a year ago. 4% of voters disapprove of the job he's doing. up from 31% a year ago. the governor's handling appears to be the reason for the drop. the poll surveyed 997 registered voters and it has a sampling margin of plus or minus 3.6 points.
